If I'd cheated I would have put down why exactly he lost. I just remembered that more than one Roman general tried to take an army that direction, and the desert conditions were too harsh for the troops to handle while maintaining good order. Doing a bit of research, I find that the other cruicial aspect of Crassus defeat was his betrayal by the Nabataen chieftan Ariamnes, who told him to take the devastating desert route and led the army into a trap.

Yeah. He also refused Armenian aid and his enemies, the Parthians, used their amazing cavalry archer forces with their famous Parthia Shot to annihilate the legions. They resupplied their cavalry archers with arrows from the camp. They also cut off and slaughtered every Roman cavalryman, including Crassus' son. Crassus sued for peace but as he approched them they cut him down.

I found a source that said Crassus' son actually ordered one of his own Gallic soldiers to kill him, rather than be captured.
