Indifference.... Who here hates hippies? or liberalists? or Excell? These feelings of hate come from the fact that human kind is to damn retarded to cope with indifference. We go with our instincts to lash out at them to some degree, meaning instead of being compelled to hunt down a hippie, we do something less drastic that still hurts them just as much. What is good? What is evil? Good can be called the state of pleasure in which everyone is feeling happy while not causing others any kind of pain or discomfort. Greed, discontent, envy, difference; all of these feelings can spark a flame of evil. Money, sex, religion: these are all individual charactoristics that are part of difference, which is a part of evil.

When I was typing this, I remembered an AMV that some of you may be familiar with. 'Eden: remastered' by otaku productions. It was themed around Trigun, an awesome anime series. heres the text they put in there: Kill the spiders...to save the butterflies...death (shows wolfwood dying) destruction ( shows the really big explosion from final battle)...is this what "he" calls eden? (long pause of text) People Have many different ways of thinking...I'm sorry (shows end of battle Vash shooting as knives)...Kill the spiders and save the butterflies...It's rational until you realize that by striving for it, you become a spider yourself.

This really got to me: it says so much. Well I'm all typed out right now...

Many people consider the 7 Deadly Sins and 7 Heavenly Virtues to be the defining aspects of Good and Evil. So here's my reason why they're not.

The 7 Deadly Sins:
Pride
Greed
Envy
Wrath
Lust
Gluttony
Sloth

The 7 Heavenly Virtues:
Humility
Generosity
Love
Kindness
Self Control
Faith
Zeal

Notice anything wrong with that? Not all envy, wrath, sloth, lust, pride and even greed are bad. Greed is the loosest of all of those. Wrath can be reasonable. Lust is definitely not bad in moderation. Envy is actually a fairly good thing because it inspires. Envy is the reason communism won't work. Pride is definitely good. If we were all always humble we would never do anything. Greed in very small amounts isn't bad. I want more money. I'm not going to kill or steal for it though. Gluttony is the only truly bad thing. No good comes from gluttony.

The 7 Heavenly Virtues are not always good either. All of them can be bad at times but only love, generosity, faith and zeal can truly be deadly. Self control has its downsides because it prevents you from going all out at times. That can be a good thing. Sometimes it is a good thing to be arrogant and prideful so humility isn't always great. If you give everything away that leaves you for dead so generosity can be bad. Love can lead to you killing or maiming people. Loving too much can be deadly. Kindness doesn't always work out. Sometimes kindness can get you killed or insulted or taken advantage of, much like generosity. Faith and zeal can both be shown by everyday examples. The hardline Christians and Muslims around the world show that problem.

Now, I do realize that if everyone followed the 7 Heavenly Virtues and did none of the 7 Deadly Sins the world would be a great place. That won't happen though. We're human therefore we're imperfect. Also, the world would be stagnant if we were to ignore the 7 Deadly Sins. Removing them from our lives removes half of what we are.

All in all I believe good and evil both come directly from humanity therefore we're the root. If there were no humans there would be no good or evil. I hope this post cleared up the use of envy and such as means of evil.

It's stupid, yes, unless you didn't care if you lived or died, and was gunna commit suicide anyway, usually people choose a more suitable way that they like to be prepared for. But it's not evil if the participants are willing, even then it's not evil, it's those who force it upon them that are evil.
