Ever hear of "I feel Sick", "Squee!", "Johnny the Homicidal Maniac", or, the most popular, "Invader Zim" ? All of these titles are made by a sad sad little man named Jhonen Vasquez. Ok, he's not sad...at least I'm pretty sure he's not... Jhonen is a very funny artist. He doesn't make pictures out of the blue that make you think "What the fuck?!?", but he does do comics that have the most peculiar of plotlines.
JTHM (Johnny the homicidal maniac) is about, well, a homicidal maniac named Johnny...but you can call him NNY (as in "nee", for short) and how he struggles to answer questions about his own ponderous life like why he needs to paint this one wall in his massive basement with blood since the wall seems to absorb it, or why he hears and sees a styrofoam doughboy in halves moving around and talking.
During his zanie adventures he meets a girl on a date...like a depressed artist girl...Her name is Devi, the main character of "I feel sick". She is the only targeted victim of nny that survived and got away. But after months of staying inside due to paranoia of him finishing the job, wierd things begin to happen.
Back to nny...in some of the short little bits that we see nny in, he meets his neighbors, a typical nuclear family...with a drugged up mother and a father who regrets the day he had a son... the son, named Todd, calls himself "squee" since that's the noise he makes when hes afraid (and hes afraid alot). Squee is a sad little boy that the world seems to hate. His only friend is the prince of darkness and everything seems to go really bad around him. The only thing he has got going for him is that nny doesn't seem to want to kill him.
Now I explained them all since they are all related to eachother in some way. Even the Filler Bunny. Originally made to fill up one page of extra space in a squee comic due to a page of advertizing, Johnen later decided to do a full 15-page comic book...in one night...before a comic convention tour began...and it drove him insane, so he claims. He did the same thing a while later... only this time in 2 nights... let me quote him from the comic here " 'Oh, it'll be fine!' I said! '2 nights? no problem!' I told them....(zoom in on his twitchy eyes) WHAT THE FUCK WAS WRONG WITH MEEEEE?!?"
And in march, Jhonen has announced his next filler bunny comic. Less random, more plot (whats this 'plot' you speak of?), and more than a week to make. Heres the link to his publishing site and a few preview pages.
