well mata means stop, or stop it. something like that, but what does Jaa mean?

I remember someone mentioning what Jaa Mata means, but I can't remember now.
And the Lord said unto John, "Come forth and receive eternal life." But John came fifth and won a toaster.

It means farewell, til next time, cya, later days, etc. I've only seen it spelled with one a though. Ja mata!
