the caves, The way !, new to this, can anyone help please?

Hello,
I am new to this, but love rm2k games, i would like some help with The Way !, which I have justr started playing at home. I have gone through the caves and found the man on the ledge who has the key to the bridge, I went back to the bridge several times, but i donot know what todo, I click on the lever and all that comes up is a timer for 50 seconds, I dont know where togo now, cannot go back the way we came in, so where do I go now please?

You have 50 seconds to go across the bridge. If you cant go across the bridge in 50 seconds then the bridge disappears.

Do you remember how you got to Gaius(the blue haired guy). After you hit the switch and the timer appears you go exactly the same route with one small change...

Shortly after you make your 3rd jump, you come to the area where you went down and helped Gaius. Instead of going down, head up and take the stairs down. Head left and then up across the bridge before time runs out.
