I've started the 2nd year of my National BTEC Diploma in IT and what the very first thing we're taught? How to make lightning conductors from Microwaves and how to transport a pidgeon through a computer cable. Completely unrelevant but completely awesome and then we started discussing string theory and why light bends towards gravity even though it's massless. It was a full 2 hours before we actually started doing the stuff we were supposed to.

String Theory relates to pastafarianism.

College is awesome.

COM 201 Professor: "Yeah, I've pretty much tried everything. Been on rehab 16 years. Took me 11 years to get my bachelors. Anyway, this class is supposed to be 3 hours, but it'll probably be less than 1, since I can't go very long without a cigarette." *His cellphone goes off* "SHIT!!! MOTHERFUCKING PIECE OF SHIT!!! ...Hahahaha! I never thought MY cellphone would be the first to go off. Anyway, I've been a cab driver for 32 years, and I've met a bunch of celebrities, Bill Cosby, *blah blah*, oh and I met JFK when I was 7, a few days before he was shot, heheh.*blah blah* Damn nuns! What a bitch! Anyway, they don't pay me enough to keep you here any longer, so you guys can go."

I remember we got to see a laser cutter dice a piece of metal on our first day. Then someone asked why we don't use lasers as weapons and the teacher got really pissed. That's all I remember.

We somehow managed to collectively disprove evolution today.

Class today was a half hour of intro followed by the movie Blade Runner (I left for this of course). I've got a pretty easy semester ahead of me. 8)

Oh yeah. And the best credit ever: Listen to music. No seminars or labs or anything, just lectures about music. No complicated theory, just listen to music. Christ I've got it good.

The only class that will drive me insane this year is Spanish. My english professor is old, and a complete "movie buff" according to her. Next week we'll be watching City Slickers. My sociology professor is young and a bit pyschotic, and my history professor is seemingly laid-back.

I think all teachers of sociology have to be insane to a certain extent.

Oh god! Another one of those teachers that think they're hillarious simply because they own up to being unnaturally eccentric.

My lecturers are fucking badass this, not like those piece-of-shit high-school teachers, (though some of migh high-school teachers were kinda ok). Our expert systems and advanved programming languages lecturer is 53 but looks about 35 and on our first day he taught us how to make lightning conductors from microwaves. Our networking and communications lecturer let us pull apart some of the college computers last year and put them back together and gave us a copy of Linux for free.
And my software development and programing lecturer is just badass becuase he let's us get away with practically anything (except for the time when my friend called a fellow white person a nigger). This year we get to learn how to make programs with logic similar to our own neurological network.
