Microsoft ads wouldn't be much different. The hand would of course be M$ and not god, forcing them to play. Also, they'd have to buy the car bit by bit over xbox live to be able to play.

The sad part is that watching that lame 80's commercial is actually much more fun and exciting than actually playing the crappy Atari 2600 game. As someone who has an Atari, I can personally vouch for this.

Pole Position II for the 7200 ... now there was a Pole Position worthy of legends!

They would if they were watching the Animal Crossing commercials.

that commercial was awesome

'oh no you ain't, you're going to play

POLE POSITION!!!'

and then a giant hand comes out of nowhere and tosses the stereotypical white family into F1s, where they race and crash into signs and other cars and explosions and shit

nowdays you hear some faggot giving an epilouge about swords or honor and then it cuts to crappy slow motion fighting
"You see, wire telegraph is a kind of a very, very long cat. You pull his tail in New York and his head is meowing in Los Angeles. Do you understand this? And radio operates exactly the same way: you send signals here, they receive them there. The only difference is that there is no cat." (Albert Einstein, when asked to describe radio)

I personally think graphics aren't going to improve much past the next gen systems. I mean, it would just be too time consuming and costly to get much high ploy sprites. And it's not like 23 (take a year of for the PS3 and wii to come out) years from now they're going to be willing to spend much more time and money (not counting inflation) on their graphics. I mean, if you were the chief designer of a game would you double the graphical budget to make your circle a little more curved? My guess is there's going to be a shift towards shading engines and anti-aliasing and rez-increasing and other things that can help ALL your sprites look and can just be copied from game to game; but there's a cap on how much that stuff can do (and we may be starting to get close).
I'm not giving you my signature!

Coming up with better graphics would be a complete waste of time, if people actually attempted to improve graphics I would actually weep.
In this day and age, an era where there are people who actually throw shit at each other, anything, could be possible.
