Slow peace-bringing tunes.

Postby Glenn47 » Sat Oct 08, 2005 11:54 pm

Lately that's what I've been craving. I want some suggestions on really peaceful songs that you can listen to when A) you're down, B) you're tired, or C) you're thinking a lot and want to wind down. Skip the gay comments; everyone wants to hear soft tunes on occasion.
As examples-
The Who- Behind Blue Eyes
Coldplay- Parachute
The Beatles- Yesterday.

Things like that. Preferably with words (I'm full to bursting with instrumental songs) and none of those occasional soft songs on a metal album.

Cirtain songs by Badly Drawn boy and quite a few from travis are good to sit back and relax too. i can't be assed to go through them and name them all but Hour of the bewilderbeast for badly drawn boy and The invisible band/the man who for travis are good albums for chillin'.

And yes they are "instrumental" but the Ambiance themes from "The Dig" are brilliant to relax to as well. i'll post some more if i can remember them later.

lets see, I'll give you some smooth songs,
if you want power ballads see here:

Dream theatre - Answer lies within.
Edguy - When a hero cries, scarlet roses, roses to no-one, wash away the poison, Inside (by avantasia), another time, land of the miracle.
Avantasia - Inside, Anywhere, In quest for, Farewell.
Angra - Heroes of Sand.
Dreamscape - One in a million, All I need, Final Thoughts

Meh, enough metal, now for some regular slow songs:

Maroon 5 - She will be loved (actually many maroon 5 songs are rather relaxing.)
U2 - Walk on (again, U2 also has manby relaxing songs, but honestly they'r mostly upbeat.)
The Ark - Tell me when this night is over, A virgin like you (mostly upbeat songs)
Ben Folds Five - Eddie Walker, Fred Jones PT 2, The ascent of Stan, Carrying Cathy. (Theese guys are similar to Electric light orchestra, in some songs.)
The Beloved - Sweet Harmony (Get this song now.)
Daniel Powter - Bad Day.
James Blunt - You're Beautiful.

I'll get some more songs later

This is one smooth song. That faggot in the background is repulsive to my eyes though.
"You see, wire telegraph is a kind of a very, very long cat. You pull his tail in New York and his head is meowing in Los Angeles. Do you understand this? And radio operates exactly the same way: you send signals here, they receive them there. The only difference is that there is no cat." (Albert Einstein, when asked to describe radio)

I'm probabbly going to be penalized to hel for this, but when i'm down or just need to meditate i listen to "solitudeds" music. Like those thunder storm ones; or beach ones; ya man.

anyways

...please don't hurt me...
Blood is driping from the veins
Of all the enemies that I have slain
As I see their eyes turn to black
The remourse for killing is all I lack
