Maple Story

Postby Inderos » Thu Nov 04, 2004 10:31 pm

Yeah, this should be under the gaming section... But I figured pretty much everyone goes to this board, so this is where I put it.

I just started playing this MMORPG called Maple Story. It's still in Beta, but it's coming along quite nicely.

First of all, it's not like other MMORPGs in many ways. It's a sidescroller. Think Zelda 2, but with far better graphics. It's going to be free even after the beta testing, unlike most. Anyways, instead of telling you everything about it, I'll like you to the site :).

Check this game out, it would be sweet if we could all play together :-D

That sounds more like a MMO action game to me. ;)

The "RPG" part is where you level up with experience and put ability points into stats. You also gain new skills and get job classes :).

I don't disbelieve that it's an RPG of sorts, but I steadfastly refuse to accept Zelda II as one. :?

Yeah, I HATE that too. Really pisses me off. But this game as a nifty little feature called Fame. Fame is stat that is used for a variety of things. Some armor require that you have 20 fame to wear it or, some quests have a Fame requirement. Later in the game, if you have 100 Fame, you can start your own guild.

The thing is, you can only get Fame from other people. You can raise or lower a player's Fame by right clicking on them then going to "Personal Info" and clicking on lower Fame.

It's quite nice when people steal your kills or loot. :-D[/b][/i]
