Heh, we should quiz new members on The Way, that would stop spam bots and those idiotic people that keep joining without even knowing what the game is.

Not that I particularly hate Stedar at the moment, but I do enjoy using him for humor once in a blue moon, but I bet he wouldn't be here if we had that quiz. Of course my impression he joined for minor socializing and then shameless self-advertisement without playing the way could be wrong.

And that was the end of that bold endeavor.

Well good job. Someone went ahead and set it like that, so now I actually have to check my email.

In all honesty, I would volunteer to help, but I doubt both the Administration would fully trust me to honestly and justfully endow the responsibility of that job on me (a decision which, although I disagree but accept, you are justified to make, given my past...reputation) and that there is a way to endow that responsibility upon a regular-level user as opposed to an Administrator.

I actually do volunteer, if the powers that run this forum see fit, to participate in the account approval process. I check my mail often (its linxed in my tool bar actually) and if theres a way to check the epic account-approval power, that'd be a nice security measure to ensure I don't disapprove everyone. Real people could send an email to me or complain to somebody if their account is denied repeatedly.

But if you don't want just a regular like myself doing that, I can perfectly understand that.

Have fun Jera, and sorry my mentioning ideas about the wellfare of the forums led to more monotonous work.

Resigning is always an option. But I think you should get a few retirement bans with it.

heh... that was me... before sanity kicked in. It's still a sole-user registration, but I added a couple checks... one tests for the addition of a website into an invisible (to the user) field.

Also, IP addresses are recorded upon registration, so we can look up those users and ban the IPs they register from in the event they never post. I also cleaned up the memberlist from people that had ad-looking websites and such... but it's still kindof a guessing game.

I don't know if we'll get rid of them entirely, but I did make it a bit harder for 'em. Sorry it was getting so bad:|

I don't think I can count how many ways to ridicule this fragment, both in and out of context.

I think you eliminated the one person who would answer that when you upped the security.

I'd suggest my friend who allowed us to use his server for the radio back in june, but honestly I'm convinced he keeps changing his server domain so often because he's "dodging the fedz" as he puts it. Meh. Other than that, can't help ya.
