I think that'd be pretty cool if they made a pocket knife like that... I mean... I'd buy it. :P

And back to my arguement that there are stupid people from all over the place... I can think of one paticular very stupid Wisconsinite... Just kidding! Just kidding! I'm just messing, Porter. I'm sorry, I just couldn't resist. You're cool, Porter. But seriously... people all over the world are idiots... Actually... pretty much everyone is an idiot... It's kinda part of human nature. :P But still... I don't think the French should be singled out for a couple political decisions that a lot of people think were foolish... And not all the French agreed on some of those decisions... But maybe you weren't even considering their politics... But still... Try to steer away from being prejudice...

It's still related to the French, ain't it?

Heh, well, I haven't been checking here too often. Anyway, the download to the translated Episode 1 on the main page doesn't seem to work...anyone know where I could get it?

EDIT

Ah, nevermind, I found it, it works. Hurrah.

Hey, they aren't by any chance short of translators are they? Because I think it'd be a great way for me to improve my French skills for the coming exam, and plus...well, The Way just kicks ass, and I'd like to translate it.

I'm not sure how accurate it actually is, but this thing seems to work all right...

...Huh? Are you saying that's what Lun used to translate the game?

Sorry... I thought you meant you wanted to translate the French version so you could brush up on your French. Lun didn't make the French translation of the Way, though... Roir did... Roir is French(I think) and speaks English... So he doesn't really need a translator as far as I know.

Lun did not translate it, one of our old buddies Roir did, and he speaks en francais with the best of them

Right then,

I go AWOL for a month or two and you all go and move to another board!
For shame, for shame....

I'd be happy to get any additional feedback from people who have given the Episode 1 translation a whirl. We have it submitted to those Alex D'Or awards, we'll have to see how that goes come July.

Now, as for Episode 2, well, here's the patented Megatokyo-whine low-down :

See, a while back my laptop, which had been languishing in the throes of agony for quite some time, finally died on me, and with it, it took my near-completed E2 translation, not to mention all my other stuff.

Now I have a new, less overheating-prone, laptop, and I do have all the stuff I need to get the translation started again, but at the moment, between all the work I have to get done and the bleak perspective of having to translate all of E2 over again, it's not a huge priority.

So I'm not dead, and neither is La Voie. I'm sure that sometime soon I'll feel up to whacking away at that particular piñata again.

Now then, a quick word on the thread francophobic tangent. I appreciate a good joke as much as the next guy, and that french army knife bit was sure worth a laugh, but seriously, guys, that happened once. 64 years ago. Get over it already.

The French have had their mettle tested in wars the likes of which the U.S. has never known, and I hope it will never have to. If you doubt it, open a history book and read up on the siege of Verdun, for one. Or do a Google search for it. Read about the Napoleonic wars. And even if it was marginal, read about the Resistance, both at home and abroad.

I'm not glorifying France's violent history here. France has fought a lot of stupid wars in which a lot of people died for stupid reasons. But the last thing that the French deserve to be called is cowards. So like I said, get over it already. :)

Hmm, and just to make sure that the initial thread question is clearly answered, La Voie is the complete french translation of The Way. The full game, all dialogue, in-game messages, menus, and so on, to the best of my ability.

Enjoy.

Damn straight. 8)

But at least we last longer than 6 days in our wars.
