It was clear to me Cocoa was just fooling around, but I am surprised that little to none of the real him was apparent.

I do it just for you. I've got it bookmarked as "How to annoy GCM".

Anyways, I hardly think any of us took him seriously, even if I didn't know who the flaming fuck he was.

I've read about 1/3 of it, I'm on chapter 14. Very nice story so far. I did get lost in certain parts of the book, like when it's describing the Galleo Library and its "search engines."

I also failed to grasp certain concepts of the world of Choaradar that was mentioned in the book, so I was confused until I went back and reread several passages.

spoiler:

On page 17 where it's describing Kino's decision to transfer his hereb into the Smithing Manual, I think the concept of actium (not necessarily in the form of an animatoid) being able to hold one's hereb should have been fleshed out prior to this part of the book. Cause when I read it, partly due to my bad reading skills, I was like "what the heck?" skipped it, and went on assuming that Kino had killed himself and his soul is just floating around.

Page 45, second last paragraph where it says "if I'm in your dreams, then you probably have a certain book, further contributed to my confusion by making me believe that books can communicate with each other, and that the book Cidraso had was a different book from the one Kino held in his "death." But it's actually the same book lol.. In short, I thought Kino and Cidraso talking to each other in the dream was made possible by books that were like telephones... perhaps mentioning that the book had travelled from Kino's dead hands to the Galleo library, where Cidraso found it, would have been helpful.

Anyway the only complaint so far, besides my lack of comprehension of the book, is: Cidraso's and Lucento's death! I thought that Cidraso was going to be the main character.. when Kino killed Cidraso accidently using CPR, and Cidraso's chest described as going "all the way down to the dented floor," I was thinking 'wait a minute let me read that again' then seeing the lines "I killed him. I killed him" I got my unpleasant confirmation. And when Lucento came in and died just as suddenly, I felt like laughing, but I surpressed it, feeling sort of insane. Damn! More madness is expressed in this moment than the entire Amadeus movie.

But the book is exciting. I liked how most of the events go by quickly.

Philorum reminds me of Slade, but cooler. He's not a loner nor a female-phobic.

Thanks for the feedback...
I appreciate your detailing what confused you and how. (so I can remedy this in further books.) Also my website, http://www.choaradar.com has some items to help with confusion... by popular demand I should be adding a section that details how anchors and animatoids work. Yes this is part of the mystery of the first book, but (unlike Lun) I'm willing to tell it straight out in other places. So, look for that segnemnt by the end of Novemeber if not sooner.

I also recently added a cast list to help pronuciation and keep characters and their races straight.
