The poll says Knight, not Knight with Horse. And even with a horse, the ninja would just kill both of them.

Ninja sneaks up on the pirate and tosses a shuriken through his neck. And he could easily find a weak point in the armor of a knight or samurai, too, before they could even attack.

Why would a horse matter so much? In fact, if a knight charged on horseback, a Samurai could just slice the knight's leg off, or even easier, kill the horse.

It's an open field, there is no sneaking up. Wouldn't slicing the knight's leg off through armor be a little difficult?

I'd like to see a samurai try that. He would be on the point of the knights lance faster then a blink. And the horse would be armored, making it even harder for the samurai. Everyone armored their horses back then. The knight would waste the samurai. Sorry. (Assuming he has a horse. If not, I'm not sure who would win. It would be interesting.)

Well you know what would be REALLY interesting? 50 Knights, 50 Samurai, 50 Ninjas. No pirates. Pirates aren't even properly trained. They're just taught by other pirates, and almost never fought with swords. Actually though, an interesting tidbit is the fact that swordsmen almost NEVER hit swords together like in movies. They usually only clash swords to block other swords once or twice. If swordsmen used swords like that all the time, the blade becomes chipped and dull. The exception of sword-clashing would be Rapiers, where the theory of swords hitting each other probably originated. Funny though that even in animes you see swords hitting each other all the time. Also in almost every American movie with swords. It just doesn't happen that way in real life.

Funny though that even in animes you see swords hitting each other all the time. Also in almost every American movie with swords.

That because it's easier to show the swords striking together and have it look realistic. When you hit the other person, there's blood, and intestines, and...

Plus, if you want the fight to last a while, the combatants need to keep blocking and parrying. It doesn't take many hits to the body to send a man down.
