A few links, stright off, and I recommend looking through them, even if there's a lot:

The DS, for those who didn't know about it.

Nintendo's Press Conference, pretty interesting.

Nintendo DS! I'd prefer the Start and Select buttons below the D-Pad, a la GBA, but oh well.

THE MOST AWESOME THING EVER, CLICK TO MAKE YOUR LIFE WORTH LIVING.

Awesome videos, DOWNLOAD! I wouldn't get the movie in the above link from here, it's not as good quality.
Also, for those people who don't have fast enough internet to bother downloading every or most movies, I recommend Zelda: Four Swords, Paper Mario 2, Advance Wars, and maybe Metroid Prime 2 for the GC. Go with Zelda: TMC and Mario Pinball for the GBA.
For the DS, get SMB, maybe Metroid, and go to:

This for everything else (64X4 isn't that impressive beyond the screenshots).

More DS stuff, three pages of coolness. I wanna play these games...

The other DS games.

The PSP, eh, doesn't look very nice.

Some info on the next GBA Zelda:

"Some new details have emerged regarding The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, the newly announced GBA title being developed by Capcom. The most obvious and important is the Minish Cap, which is a small talking magical hat that Link wears. The cap causes Link to shrink at key points in the game. Allowing him to access areas previously unavailable. The camera angle varies when Link shrinks. Being of either a standard view of the world with Link being a tiny dot on the screen or a magnified view of the tiny Link and his surroundings.

The dungeon on display has pretty much all the the typical Zelda puzzles and an interesting new item. A bottle that can suck in air and then expel it in a powerful burst, allowing Link to shove enemies and items around as well as uncover things hidden under debris on covering the ground. The bottles vacuum effect can also be used to move objects around to help unlock certain puzzles.

Another thing revealed by the Demo is that Link collects Kinstones. Which are broken magic stones. Because the stones are broken Link has to find the missing half. When combined the Kinstones have unpredictable effects from giving Link Rupees to calling game characters to give Link information. Some even open up new areas for Link to access."

---

Capcom making Viewtiful Joe and a MMBN game sounds good. I was so sure there would be a MMBN for the DS, it's just too perfect. And Animal Crossing looks like it was designed for the system, the easy menu and "keyboard" are too perfect.

Advance Wars looks great, but it doesn't look like Advance Wars. Is it Action, Strategy, or both?

It looks like Zelda: The Minish Cap is going to incorporate elements used in Four Swords - from the movie, it looks like you can split Link into four at some points. It has the FS graphical style, too.

The new Donkey Kong GBA game looks weird. Supposedly it only uses the L and R buttons. It's kinda like Clu Clu Land (NES), only more complicated.

Metroid Prime: Hunters looks okay, but we don't know much about it. It makes very nice use of the touch screen, not only to fire and charge but to look around.

And so does Wario Ware. That looks pretty good.

SM64X4's movie was boring, but multiplayer in an SM64-style game could be great.

And of course, the NEW NEW NEW NEW NEW Super Mario Bros. game. It looks a little odd... It should be on the GBA, but it'll sell many more systems this way, I suppose. Is it even gonna use both screens?

And finally, the new Zelda is awesome. I simply cannot get over how awesome it is. There wasn't anything left to do with cel-shading past TWW anyway, so I think this was a good choice.

Don't forget...

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes

Looks awesome. I finally got a chance to finish the first.

Looks like Nintendo is getting up and around again. For a minute, I thought that Nintendo would end up like Sega..which no one wants to happen.

With a new Metroid, a new Legend of Zelda, and a whole new hand held system, this will be great.

I'm liking the DS. It looks a bit bulky, but I like how they seemed to combine the Game Boy Advance with the Game Boy Advance SP to make the DS.

Anyway, I'm downloading the new Zelda video right now. I'll come back to this thread soon.

I mentioned MP2, but I didn't think the movie was so great that it should have has much priority as the others I said. I have a whole E3 2004 folder full of junk now... >_< And a wallpaper featuring Link from the new Zelda, which looks really cool. IM me if you want it.

Oh, and I guess this is the bright side of the PSP. Yes, it means that there'lll be less 2D games, which was worrying me (because I love 2D games), but it also means that Nintendo have to get off their ass and take the handheld market seriously. And dammit, the DS is perfect. And speaking of the DS, here's more stuff about it. I bolded the stuff that you're less likely to know about, or that I think is more important.

Dual Screens: Two LCD screens offer one of the most groundbreaking game-play advances ever developed: experiencing a game from two perspectives at once. Imagine the possibilities. In a racing game, drivers might see their own vehicle's perspective on one screen and an overall track view on the other. In a role-playing game, the action could take place on the first screen while the second provides a reference for a player's tools inventory. Game play also could use both screens at once, offering a giant boss for heroes to defeat. In the future, games could be created allowing users to play games on one screen while text messaging other DS users on the other. Each 3-inch screen can reproduce a true 3-D view and is backlit to assure comfortable play in any lighting condition.

Touch Screen: The lower screen will offer something never before provided by any game device: PDA-like touch capabilities. Players no longer have to rely on just buttons to move characters or shift perspectives. They can navigate menus or access inventory items simply by touching the screen with stylus or fingertip. A software-based keyboard might even allow the screen to be used as an input center for games and messaging. The possibilities are limited only by developers' imaginations. The screen will have a tougher film cover for durability, and will come with a stylus.

Microphone: An available microphone port means that in the future, players might need only to tell their games what to do. DS software could identify everything from voice commands to hand-clapping. Players might be able to move their characters simply by telling them which way to go. The voice capabilities also could allow gamers to chat with one another over the Internet while playing.

Wireless: DS users will be able to connect with a local wireless network of up to 16 players. Nintendo's guaranteed range is 30 feet, but will extend far beyond that depending on circumstances. It assures high response rates required for real time game play, and will make use of both IEEE 802.11 and Nintendo's proprietary communication protocol, which provides low battery consumption. Players will be able to chat and play games without any connecting cords, completely untethered. The DS technology also provides for a wireless LAN connection, which could allow a theoretically infinite number of players to connect at a hot spot and compete at a central game hub on the Internet, even if they're thousands of miles apart. (I'm looking forward to kicking your asses at Mario Kart)

Wireless Game Sharing: If software developers desire, multiple players can compete in wireless games, even if only one person has a game card inserted. Players could also test-play games for themselves as long as they stayed connected. (ooh, demos of games a friend has bought. Very nifty)
l
3-D: With the newly developed graphics engine, DS can reproduce impressive 3-D renderings that can surpass images displayed on the Nintendo 64. Games will run at 60 frames per second, and allow details like fog effects and cel shading.

Sound: The 16-channel sound allows for greatly expanded use of voices and music, and a richer, more immersive game experience. A plug for headphones transmits stereo sound.

Battery & Power Management: The battery is rechargeable and the unit features a low-energy-consumption design. The DS also has Power Management functions of Sleep mode and Standby mode. In Sleep mode, players can stop and resume game play whenever they like. If the user receives a message from a friend or user nearby, DS activates itself from Standby mode.

Processing: The unit will run on two processors, one ARM9 one ARM7.

New Media: For its compact cards, the unit uses newly developed semiconductor memory, which allows for lower cost, shorter manufacturing time and memory capacity of more than one gigabit of information.

Dual Slots: Nintendo DS makes a vast library of Game Boy Advance games readily available. Developers could find ways to make new connections between GBA games and DS games. The GBA port could be used for new hardware, enormously expanding the functional expandability of the DS. (Maybe a DS game can recognize if a game in the same series as it is in the GBA slot, and will unlock extra features if one is, for some games. That might not be possible/be done, but at least in the future, GBA games can be made to react to DS games)

I think I'll pick up a DS. I haven't owned a Gameboy in years (what with emulation and all).

There isn't gonna be a DS emulator any time soon after its release - emulating a dual screen, touch screen, dual slots, microphone and wireless multiplayer would be difficult (although a mouse could be used for the stylus, it would be a pain in the ass for right-handers, if you think about it).

More Advance Wars, sounds complicated and extremely unlike AW. Once you get used to it, it could be very fun, though. And it's AW, I'm sure they'll have multiplayer.

Viewtiful Joe 2, which I'm really looking forward to. VJ was awesome. In the first game, when you used Slow VFX on the Six Machine's gunfire, it made the blast get huge and powerful, maybe you can do that with Silvia's attack.

Resident Evil 4, for those of you into that sort of thing.

Capcom's new game, sounds cool. The hero has 7 alternate personalities, one of which is a girl. :D

I'm not gonna post links to screenshots here, since it takes too long, for that just head on to the media pages from the last couple of days at Planet GameCube.. I'll post any noteworthy articles here, though. I know at least a couple of people here liked Fire Emblem, and there are screenshots for the GC game, as well as Wario Ware DS and Super Mario 64X4 (64X2 would be the long awaited SM128 :P).
There's also Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, which seems to make use of the same drums as Donkey Konga - so what's the difference between them? The movie of this one made it look almost like a new DK platformer.

And now I bring you the post of twos.

Two pages on Paper Mario 2.

Two games with Pac-Man.

Two pages about Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, so we finally know what the hell that is. It sounds interesting. I'm too lazy to dig something up about Donkey Konga and the drums now, so Google it if you don't know.

And, uh, just one page on SM64X4.

I might comment on Mario Pinball later, probably once there's more info about it.
Also, Advance Wars: Under Fire. I've gotta admit, the name is gonna sell a lot of copies, but how will it be like AW? Their are definitely similarities in how the units look and I think affect each other, but actually controlling one of your men is weird, and the controls for telling other people what to do and who to attack will definitely take getting used to. Well, the whole game will take getting used to, but the combination of an Action game and RTS is intriguing. I like the idea of being able to ambush enemies (well, you could in AW, but only in Fog of War), hide behind hills, etc.

Edit: Since PGC are updating so damn frequently, I'm only gonna give links to other website stuff that isn't there, and just mention the new stuff at PGC at the start of each post. Like, since I made this post, they've put up Wario Ware DS impressions.

Go here for GC and GBA screens, and scroll down, because there are more GC screens under the GBA ones. Just for those people with crappy internet connections again. By the way, if you're interested in Wario Ware DS, you should probably go to PGC and download the video for that, too, it's pretty interesting how the stylus is used.

Metroid Prime 2 interview.

ZELDA INFO, damn this is gonna be cool.

Mario Tennis movie, it's about time they moved on from that golf crap and on to something good. It's always interesting to see a sports game combined with RPG elements. And the various obstacles and stuff on the field shold make things interesting.

If the Mario Tennis or Zelda videos won't load, click where it says "left click to save", and save it to your hard drive.[/url]

Uh... just a little heads up here, Mario Tennis isn't a new thing. I have the GBC Mario Tennis. It's awesome.

I wish Nintendo would've just fallen apart......they really don'tt stand much of a chance against Sony anyways. Sony is predicted to overtake Microsoft some time in the future. I dunno, I just like Sony and dislike Nintendo. It might be because all the RPGs are on Sony though..... 8)

I'm not an idiot, I damn well know that already.

PGC Stuff: Megaman Anniversary Collection games info, and Capcom are remaking the SNES Aladdin game. I think that was the good one. And a Viewtiful Joe preview.

Also, I'm not gonna link to them individually, but IGN GameBoy has a bunch of pages on The Minish Cap, Mario Pinball and pretty much every single DS game announced (keep scrolling down to the "latest headlines" area to see them all). These games look so awesome. IGN go more in-depth with some games, like the Pac-Man ones (Which both look very great, but should be bundled together as one game), and have stuff PGC haven't covered yet. They also have more detailed info on the demos than the 3-page link I gave in the first post of the topic (I think that was the one with demo info). Reading all these articles just gets me more excited.

Viewtiful Joe 2 video, and I even got you a direct link to save it on to your computer. It's longer than the other videos we've seen, and pretty cool.

I was talking to Jeramyu.

And how can you say that Nintendo don't stand a chance against Sony? Have you seen the new Zelda? Or the DS game movies?

Sega stuff, and if you haven't yet, go through the entire IGN GameBoy main page and read up on the games and demos for the DS, they have the best descriptions I've seen anywhere so far. It really sounds like the DS can do some amazing things... Definitely the most unique and innovative system ever.

And more Zelda info.

Well, we need a topic of discussion, so how about the GBA games for now, since we know more about them?
Mario Pinball - Kirby and Pokemon have had their Pinball games, but this looks like it might even beat both of them. From what I played of Pokemon Pinball R&S, is was quite fun, but I never got around to buying it. However, I would really like a pinball game eventually, so this looks like it could be it. Pinball with Mario elements, such as enemies, item blocks and mushrooms. Very interesting. It looks like there will be many different, small pinball rooms you move between.

Zelda: The Minish Cap - New acronym to get used to when discussing Zelda, everyone: TMC. Remember, TMC. Okay, Capcom are working on this, and it shows when comparing to their other Zelda ventures. An item, quite possibly the Four Sword (from the game of the same name), can split Link into four to get past areas, as seen in the video of it. It is definitely based on the WW style, with the FS sprites and even enemies, such as a giant Green ChuChu boss (or mini-boss). I hope there are more new items, as well as the one that can suck in and send out things.

More AW:UF, which still needs to convince me that it belongs in the AW series. It has completely reinvented it, as the link says, but it does look pretty cool. I just think there are gonna be a couple of flaws with the controls for your other men, tanks, etc., since RTS doesn't normally put you in the shoes of one of your units. Also, this means you can't use many strategies that are fun in AW, such as splitting your troops into two teams to create a diversion or to fight a battle on two fronts, you can't have other units even be moving while they're away from you... It just seems to take out much of the tactical gameplay I enjoyed. But that doesn't make it bad.

Also, Nintendo's next system is now codenamed "Revolution".
