UFOs?

MEXICO CITY, Mexico (AP) -- Mexican Air Force pilots filmed 11 unidentified objects in the skies over southern Campeche state, a Defense Department spokesman confirmed Tuesday.

A videotape made widely available to the news media on Tuesday shows the bright objects, some sharp points of light and others like large headlights, moving rapidly in what appears to be a late-evening sky.

The lights were filmed on March 5 by pilots using infrared equipment. They appeared to be flying at an altitude of about 3,500 meters (11,480 feet), and allegedly surrounded the Air Force jet as it conducted routine anti-drug trafficking vigilance in Campeche. Only three of the objects showed up on the plane's radar.

"Was I afraid? Yes. A little afraid because we were facing something that had never happened before," said radar operator Lt. German Marin in a taped interview made public Tuesday.

"I couldn't say what it was ... but I think they're completely real," added Lt. Mario Adrian Vazquez, the infrared equipment operator. Vazquez insisted that there was no way to alter the recorded images.

The plane's captain, Maj. Magdaleno Castanon, said the military jets chased the lights "and I believe they could feel we were pursuing them."

When the jets stopped following the objects, they disappeared, he said.

A Mexican Defense Department spokesman confirmed Tuesday that the videotape was filmed by members of the Mexican Air Force. The spokesman declined to comment further and spoke on customary condition of anonymity.

The video was first aired on national television Monday night then again at a news conference Tuesday by Jaime Maussan, a Mexican investigator who has dedicated the past 10 years to studying UFOs.

"This is historic news," Maussan told reporters. "Hundreds of videos (of UFOs) exist, but none had the backing of the armed forces of any country. ... The armed forces don't perpetuate frauds."

Maussan said Secretary of Defense Gen. Ricardo Vega Garcia gave him the video on April 22.

Better search on Google (I'll try to...). But you know, there are Top-Secret files as well. Of course the typers know about them, but think about it! There could've been MANY more unusual happenings before. But what makes you think they're completely futuristic? What happens if they're a little un-modern? There might be some religious texts on this (any religion).

Aliens exist.

But we will probably not come in contact with them.

If we discover an alien civilisation in space they might have already died during the time it took for the light to travel to us.

If there is life in space, most likely it will be so many years away from earth that either the people will have to be cryogenically frozen and the flying process completely automated, or they send a few familys up to procreate and carry on the line.

You guys know that BACTERIAL Life-Forms in the Solar System not on Earth is out-there, right? In 1996, Martian rock came from the atmosphere to Antarctica, and there was bacteria on it, I heard.

Not true. People would be saying there is life outside of Earth constantly. Also, bacteria would burn up in our atmosphere. Right now, the only life we know of is here on Earth.

The NASA Shuttle is outside of the Solar System, right? Well it has enough fuel to probably distance another 2/3 of our Solar System (deactivates in 2020 and was launched in 70s), so maybe we'll find out more. Do you guys know we can spend TRILLIONS and THOUSANDS of dollars and years making Mars's atmosphere into an atmosphere like Earth's? Too bad it takes too much time, effort, and money.

Yeah, but it would allow us to colonize. We need a colonization program.

Wrong, Excell. There are many extremophiles that survive on a purely anaerobic atmosphere. It is widely known by NASA that our trip to the moon left bacteria there that stayed alive. As for Mars, the rock was found with fossilized bacteria. It solidly gives evidence of microbial life on mars. This was likely from whenever mars had liquid water (which was finaly proven recently).

Regardless, it is very unlikely that any INTELLIGENT life exists within our reach. Most UFO's like the above have turned out to be millitary test events for things like high altitude flares/missile dummies, ball lightning, and other such things. Oh, one more thing.

The millitary jets that suposedly picked them up on Radar? There is no radar image released that shows such things. In fact, what we DO know, is that the flight report when they landed basicly said NOTHING about these things. They only said they picked them up on radar AFTER hearing the word.

Truly there are ways of traforuming that will only take 100 years.

More like 1,000, sadly enough, War. It would take a hellovalot of CO2 to give Mars a viable atmosphere. It would also take a huge ammount of O2. We just dont hav ethe technology to launch such tankes right away... and also, once we did, we'd have to release the gases slowly. If mars recieves too much gas too fast, much will just escape the atmosphere, because it has little cohesion with the small ammount of gas mars currently has.

Teraforming mars will be tremendiously dificult. We'd need to drop a few huge tanks of liquidox and liquidCO2. Let them release slowly over a period of many decades... once that's done, we'd have to wait a while for the atmosphere to even out in all places, then figure some sort of way to get ALOT of water into water vapor. Use tanks containing highly pressurized water vapor, and release.

But remember, in sending water there, we need to take water from here. We cant spontaneously create water out of hydrogen and oxygen, sadly enough. Not yet.
