Relife after Death

I've thought the whole life after death thing over and decided that just about every religion is wrong. With that finished I only had one place to turn, athiesm and agnosticism.

Athiests believe that after dying is the same state as before your birth. Therefore nothing.

I, myself have developed my own thoery. Comment on it or even state your own thoeries or religion. All of my thoery has been based on science and just simply using my own thought process.

Noticing that nearly everything in nature works in a cycle, I thought to myself, maybe time itself works in a cycle. Maybe eventually the universe will just decide to start over again. Maybe we just live our lives over and over and over and over again in an endless cycle?

Sure, this thoery is extremely farfetched, but when you're dealing in an infinite amount of time, certain things that don't happen, do happen, simply because of the infinite amount of time you have. For example we all know that 0=0. but maybe just for a fraction of a second, trillions and trillions of years from now 0=1.

Feel free to comment on this, actually, please do comment on this. That's why I put in in a forum.

Man, that's DEEP.

Okay... I'm Christian. I believe that when we die, we either go to heaven or hell, and that one day, this world will end.

Why do you think there is no life after death?

I beleive that our memories live on in other peoples memories and that's how we acheive immortality. And the only way to do that is to do something really cool so that everyone remembers you and your name goes down in history.

I belive in heven and hell.

I believe that in 2036, God will trigger the Apocolypse.
Depending on our beliefs we will either go to heaven
or hell. I think you're better off believing in God.
Just look at it this way.

YOU BELIVE IN GOD + HE EXISTS = YOU GO TO HEAVEN
YOU DON'T BELIEVE IN GOD + HE DOES EXIST = YOU GO TO HELL
YOU BELIEVE IN GOD + HE DON'T EXIST = YOU DIE
YOU DON'T BELIEVE IN GOD + HE DON'T EXIST = YOU DIE.

Obviously, there is more to it than that but that's the basic idea.

I also am A Christian.
Note: Christianity is different from Catholisism.

Okay, I must say, right here and now, that I think you'd be better off with scientology.

Christian =\= Catholic?!? ZOMG! Stop the press! When did you find out? Was it the lack of nuns at sunday school or the total lack of descriptions of fire and brimstone in your kiddie sermon?

Now, I'm only criticizing you becuase I honestly don't think that is a serious post. At. All.

Assume these:

Death is part of life
Nobody knows what happens after death

If you take this in consideration you get:

Don't friggin bother, live life to it's fullest.

You don't have to press enter every other few words y'know?

Personally I'm athiest, as in I don't believe any religions are correct, though I do think some of their perceptions and philosophies on life are smart etc.

I believe you die and that's it for you. I think conciousness is a convienient tool for keeping us alive and therefore a fluke of evolution. Having said that, the bible contains some pretty profound things: "God made us in his own image". If we postulate God as an energy source/ the big bang. Einstein's E+MC2 tells us the link between energy and matter and thus we are all made of "God", energy. Thinking that we are special is just a stupid human thing. Bacteria have survived for longer and will probably continue to survive after we are gone.

Taking the belief in reincarnation, our atoms dissasemble themselves and go off to make other things, could be a living thing, we get spread about alot. Eventually, having been created by the explosion of a star, we will be swallowed up by it then it explodes and the cycle continues.

"Ashes to ashes; Dust to dust"

REincarnation and all religous aspect pretty much demand a spiritual essence of the body, without it you're just a scientologist...

Wow peonaesis... i'm impressed m8. You never usually let off these airs of intelligence :P I guess that does make sense...

Personally i'm not sure what i am or believe. My parents are christian but i do not believe in a heaven or hell. I think that there is a sort of God figure maybe more in essence than in reality. Now that i've read poenaesis's post i guess my beliefs are similar to his if i think about it. And here i was, chris, thinking you were completely thoughtless! hehe

My brain went on holiday for a bit, but it stopped to check it's answering machine. :D

The Nature of Hell (If it exists)

Everyone goes to hell:

There is more than 1 religion in the world that states that if you do not follow their beleif system, you will go to hell.

Since a person cannot be a member of more than 1 religion of this type, all souls go to hell.

If souls have mass, this causes some intense problems.

By Boyle's pressure laws and the nature of thermodynamics, unless hell is continually expanding, it is going to get hotter and hotter and hotter.

If hell is expanding too fast then it would freeze.

And what constitutes a soul? do bacteria have one? Since the universe statisticly contains many planets with life on them, do they all go to the same hell? If so, where is this hell, even if it exists on another dimension, this continual expansion must effect our universe visibly.

Or if hell is not expanding it is gaining heat energy all the time. Since energy can't be created or destroyed, energy must be being gradually sapped from our known universe. Does this mean that when enough souls have gone to hell the universe will slow down? Then will we get it collapsing on itself? Will it then Big Bang again? What happens to the souls during the big crunch? are they destroyed?

Or is at least all but one of these religions in the world talking from ts posterior?

THis is why I love buddhism, you're reborn, end of story. Hinduism also has reincarnationa nd even explaint that the world will end one day and it'll jsut start over and your life energy will be used again.
