I think the Seahawks got jipped.

There were at least 4 calls that should've gone their way - the TD negated for pass interference, the catch at the 1-yd line called back for holding, the Hasselbeck block penalty, the Roethlisberger TD (though they probably would've just scored on the next down anyway). Seattle had the chance to win and couldn't execute in key spots when it counted, but those calls were real momentum-killers. Pittsburgh should breathe a sigh of relief because Seattle outplayed 'em, honestly, but beat themselves in the clutch.

Can you tell I like football? I can't really say I'm unbiased, though - I'm a Bengals fan. :D

The Super Bowl is always rigged.

The Steelers, I say, were not out played. They did get some breaks, but they where hardly game breaking.

The Seahawks could not get it together when they needed to. If you want to see a game where people got jipped, Colts vs Steelers. Yet the Steelers still won it with everything against them.

The Seahawks got some run , but couldn't score with it. They got some movement in the air, but couldn't complete it.

It was just like a normal team vs the Steelers. They look good in the first half, then the pain starts to set in.

Also the pass interference was a legal call. Also Roethlisberger did make that touch down. If you look at it, the ball goes over the line just before he gets hit. Any way they would have scored on the next down like Wellsy said.

Also I live near Cinic.

War, honestly, your opinion is completely biased and therefore completely worth nothing. Your team won the superbowl, of course you're going to say they didn't get jipped.

The pass interference was a judgement call on the ref's part so you can't technically say hell no because it could go either way.

Roethlisberger did NOT get the ball over or even on the white line but it was so easily contestable it wasn't surprising or even ridiculous that he got the tdiddy. But with saying that the above pass interference penalty should also have been negged. But I guess that other one was a little more obvious.

The holding was bullshit. Complete disgraceful bullshit. Seahawks would have scored a touchdown. The holding call pushed the Seahawks back 10 and lead to the sack the next play which lead to the Alexander run and the forced throw which lead to the interception which lead to the Randle El touchdown pass which broke the Seahawks backs. Instead of the game being 17-14 it became 10-21. BullSHIT call. That stuff should NOT happen in Superbowls and it ripped off a team's chance to win.

And both teams played pretty shitty the entire game. Seahawks had a ton of dropped passes and the Steelers running game did next to nothing besides their one long run and their passing game was limited due to Big Ben being his usual overrated self. Hines Ward and Randle El saved the team.

I think any team who has a player who mouths off before the game is doomed. Stevens for Seahawks and Mitchell for Eagles.

No doubt, both teams played like crap. I'm willing to cede the Big Ben TD, mainly because they would have just run it in on 4th down anyway. I'm willing to cede the pass interference call in the end zone. But that holding call was BS, hands-down. Fans of either team, and football in general, oughta be upset with the poor officiating - without a doubt, it had an impact on the game. If the tables were turned and the Steelers received the same shitty calls, I have no doubt you'd be the first to complain about them, as would I.

And give it a rest about that Colts game, already (you must mean the 2nd one, right? As I remember in the first Monday night game you got owned). The overturned Polamalu interception was crap, no doubt, but you make it hard for me to sympathize when you still won the freakin' game.

See, crap like this makes it really difficult to take an argument seriously. As I recall, halfway through the 4th quarter the Seahawks still had a very strong chance of beating you.

And I know it might kill you, but try to have more respect for your freakin' opponents. For some reason, Steeler fans in particular have a rough time with this. NOBODY is as tough as the Steelers, EVERY SINGLE victory is because they are so dominant on the field. As a fan, you should be proud of your team, but be freakin' realistic about it, especially since you barely made into the playoffs to begin with. You'll feel a lot better about your wins when you consider the other team worthy. Continuously calling every other team soft and terrible while proclaiming your own greatness sounds silly.
Excell wrote:I think any team who has a player who mouths off before the game is doomed.

Yeah, I noticed Joey Porter didn't have that great a game either.

Porter wrote:The Super Bowl is always rigged.

My girlfriend's dad thinks the whole NFL is rigged, including Super Bowls past like when the Patriots won for the first time right after 9/11. I'm not nearly so cynical, I think this was due to incompetence . . . but it IS hard when it seemed like all the key calls seemed to break Pittsburgh's way, when they had SUCH a compelling storyline with Bettis going home to Detroit . . . but, nah, I just think it's the dumb refs. You'll have to prove otherwise before I think differently.

So, basically, enjoy the Super Bowl win. I know if the Bengals had went and had won (which I think they will in the next five years) I'd hate to hear all this talk. Just don't expect it to be a yearly occurrence from here on out, though.

I never said a damn thing about the Seahawks. I said it was just like any normal team vs the Steelers.

What does this mean? This is how it goes. Most games go like this.

Other team moves the ball in the first quarter and looks like they are better.

Second Quarter the Steelers start to fire it up in score. They score TDs towards the end of quarter.

Third quarter. The Steelers just crush the other team.

Forth quarter. It goes back to the a second quarter look.

hmmmm what did that look like? Super Bowl? I think so!

Most Steeler fans do get pissed off because of shit like this. You say respect your opponent?

Pittsburgh should breathe a sigh of relief because Seattle outplayed 'em, honestly, but beat themselves in the clutch

Why should I when all I ever hear is shit like this? All I hear 24/7 is how bad the next team is going to beat the Steelers. I don't care if its fucking biased, even though your guys (Excell and Wellsy) is a hell of alot more biased.

Steelers won. They fought there ass off to win. They get no respectfor it win or lose. Leave it alone. Its over.
