We have a class system in the game. I was wondering if you guys would rather have more traditional classes or uniquely slightly comical classes.

Seal Clubber, Turtle Tamer, Pastamancer, Saucerer, Accordian Thief, Disco Bandit.

I would rather be any one of those than a Fighter or a Wizard.

If you're gonna make unique classes, at least hire someone creative.

Unique? I mean, Fighter compared to the Disco Mage? You see my point?

Classical but renamed to appear unique whilst maintaining a serious gaming thinger... you know... for games.

Possibly a mix of the two?

I think i'd rather have a new take on an old class.

Someone's a tough guy.

I talked with Porter and he is thinking of leaning more towards unique non-comical classes. Keep your opinions coming though. If you want that or something different let me know and I'll convey it to him.

Yes, I'd definately agree with Porter. Unique, but not comical.

Hey, what kind of MMORPG is this going to be? Where is the site? What are you making it with?

Do the whole subclass thing. For example:

Lv 1-5 - Beginner non-class.
Lv 6-20 - One base class.
Lv 21 Onwards - Advanced class.

BASE -

Paladin
/
Fighter
\
Swordsman

Black Mage
/
Wizard
\
White Mage

Ranger
/
Thief
\
Ninja

Brawler
/
Monk
\
Martial Artist

Y'dig. Yo?

like seiken densetsu 3? Where you started as warrior, then coud chose either light or dark path, then after that you could chose a second time, light or dark, so your final class woiuld be:

Light-light
light-dark
dark-light
dark-dark

each with different powers.

As for different classes, here's a couple:

Nightblade: Versatile dark warrior, sneaky, uses damaging and self enchancing magic. Meant to dish out pain and not receive much.

Sentinel: Light armoured supporting class, uses quick distance magic, ranged weaponty and escape techniques

can think of a few others at a later time

Yeah, pretty much.

The game's engine isn't very good so we're currently not sure if you can actually advance your classes. Good suggestions though.

Lesse, a more self-reliant class:

Bladesinger/bladedancer/blademaster (whatever you prefer)
Can equip multiple blades, not just one, not just two, but three, or more!
One in each hand and the ability to wield blades in the mouth (thank you roronoa) can also controll blades mentally. The enemies will be sliced and dicized!

and another one

Metal Templar
Sickly armoured guardian class, can wear layers upon layers of armour, designed to withstand capital punishment and then some. Strengh lies in it's ability to use powerfull counterattacks.
