A more expensive question

Ah yes, teen added an eight to his name (lol eight-teen lol) and thus his parents became stricken with grief for they were quite dependant on Teen for some shred of sanity, between the failure of a sister and drugged up brother, which meant that he was sadly the best of the three, but that's not saying much...

Anyways, Teen was sick of burning CDs, so he decided a while back he wanted an iPod or some other thing that played MP3's. And thus it has been said that Teen would get an MP3 player...but which brand?

OOOkay, dropping the melodramatic monologue here...Seriously, I have more than enough songs to fill a 60 gig iPod, so its really up to which brand I want to get. Do I go with the iPod, with it's questionable battery replacement system which ...doesn't exist yet. I'm told that a certain "Zen" brand also has some nifty MP3 players, better cost per gig, doesn't require iTunes to use, and does everything an iPod video could do in terms of functionality, including placing files on it and using it as a HDD. So, calling all MP3 player users out there, I request your input on your experience with any and all digital MP3 players and your opinions. Don't gimme the "lol macs suxxor" crap, because if they suxxor so much, why do I see iPods every day? I don't care about pc/mac fan wars, I just want a damn mp3 player, so that is all, nothing else. If you know a good brand and a few other people agree, I'll put them up in the poll too.

iRiver, easy to use, more expensive, worth every penny.

You don't need ridiculous "software converters" that the malicious apple companies make use.

The iRiver is like a pendrive, you plug it in, drop giles into it, and listen to them, it's awesome.

Zen is by Creative Labs, and Creative is god when it comes to sound.

OH, I know that is the bestest kind of problem out there...Fun times for all. I'm organizing my music library in preparation. Still haven't really decided, but I might just get the iPod and deal with it cos I am not the one paying. For once in my life, I'm asking for a gift that costs more than 80 bucks. Sadly, it's like...5 times the normal limit ;P

iPods are fine, just don't use iTunes.

I've found (from my friends) that all their iPods break. They send them back for repairs regularly, but that's usually to swap it for the new one.
