How do I turn this on?

Umm, how the fuck does mIRC work? I load it up, enter all the crap and join #theway but it just comes up with a list of names in the corner and some green writing and after all that, nothing, zilch, zip, zero.
So, Basically. What do I next?

Talk. Summon somebody using their name usually, or some other key word. You need to factor in what time it is in their time zones. Jera wouldn't be online normally at this time of the night, and I'm only online because I wanted to finish some work tonight. You might see Impossible is active depending on what time it is in Australia. Tele or Fitz might be awake depending on what time it is in their respective time zones. We idle until somebody comes in and starts to discuss a topic or we start talking on our own. That's how it works.

That's a damn lie and you know it.
Nobody ever does anything productive except lun, Jera, verb (god knows what though), Impy used to, and Strayed. Anything else is useless superfluous banter.
