Visit from Uncle Glenn!

Postby Glenn47 » Tue Oct 24, 2006 6:44 pm

Hey guys, just thought I'd stop in, see what's up. You may be wondering where the hell I've been. Well, I'm not gonna tell you that. Instead, I'm gonna go "Hay! Wutz up mah peeps!?!? Lolroflx0rx!" God, it's been a while.
Yeah, I'm currently just looking online desperately trying to find a "study guide" for 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Cuz I haven't opened it yet. And it's due tomorrow. So if anyone can find me one that doesn't have to be paid for, lemme know. And no, sparknotes doesn't have it.
I notice Teen is posting a lot more than last time I was around. Yay Teen! I think he's my favorite. And so is Jer. And Fitz and Tele. And Strayed is up there too. Basically everyone except the new guys, cuz I'm biased. But yeah! Just been working, driving, girlfriend-make-outing, and pooping on occasion. How's it going?

Oh, and yeah. 20,000 leagues. Lemme know. Hopefully by like, 10:30 central time.

What do you need to know about it? I read it... uh... 3 or 4 years ago. I remember some of it. Off the top of my head, 2 parts.

oh lord, I saw the poll, and the first thing that caught my eye was the noob part... It was like Stedar all over again... That god that's over (I hope).

Anyway, I found the study guides you need. I sent you an e-mail, and PM, but you seem kinda desperate, so I'm posting it here too.

Not quite the same quality as spark notes, but it gets the job done

The summery here is just an add, but it's got some concise info on the charecters and book style.

They've got some more info on the history and deeper meaning etc...

The first one is a reader that you can set the talking speed WAY up on. The second is the book online. With a copy-paste you can get the thing done fairly easily, and without spending any thought on reading. I don't know if you have time, but there really is not substitute to hearing the actual book. I suppose it might help with the reading of the summaries as well.

I've never read 20,000 leagues under the sea, ever.
In this day and age, an era where there are people who actually throw shit at each other, anything, could be possible.

I hate classic literature... I'm reading The Great Gatsby now in school, its so boring.

We just finished that... and yes, I agree. It was very boring. I read the first 2 chapters and remembered the narrator's name and Gatsby's name and that's it.

The only good thing about having to read all this classic stuff is, unlike the just as boring crap you read in elementary school, spark notes has summaries of it.

If you need an essay proving that Gatsby was gay for the narrator, let me know, I know a guy....

Would you believe that was one of our discussions in class?
