"The most difficult part of the whole project was installing Windows on Sigbritt's PC," said Jonsson.

It's really too bad that none of the websites she accesses will let her USE the 40GB/sec connection. So unless she has firefox make a few hundred connections at a time, which I doubt she knows how to do, it's just a big waste.

If we kill her and scream "There can be only one!" then we get rights to her internet connection, right?

I am very much freaked out by the fact that was my first thought after reading the article.

If she connects to her local fiber network, all connections within that fiber network will work at 40 gigabytes per second, or forty gigabits, whichever it was, although it makes a difference which.

Also, the limit is not in the fibre, but in the routers and other connecting apparatus, fiber can reach gratuitous speeds.

Reading around the other parts of the site made me laugh. This site makes it look like Sweden is the goddamn utopia keeping the world from collapsing. "Swedish research makes breakthrough in cancer research" "Swedish farmers are the happiest they've ever been!" "Ikea still rules!" "Our series of tubes is a series of fibers! Or fibres! Either!"

Heh, I've thought you've figured out that every country must have at least one overly optimistic newspaper, following 7/11 I've seen a whole series of articles trying to present it in a positive light (making the world aware of terror ect ect) in a local newspaper.

And we are, in fact, we're the puppet masters of everything.

Gigabits, not bytes, it says. So that's like 5 GB/s. Why do the people who don't need or deserve anything get everything? >_>

In that case it's just 4 times faster.

7/11...The great slurpee machine breakdown, right?
