Can someone tell me why the board is so ugly now? What the hell is the user info doing on the right, and why is everything weird and impractical?

Edit: Okay, it's better now that I've changed it, but why is the default option the horrific one, and can that be changed so that we don't scare people away with our weirdass ugly mirror world??
