I've been following the financial markets for about a year now. I can't believe it's come to this. What an outrage.

All Empires fall, most of the greatest ones fell to either corruption (HINT: this) or economic instability (1+1 free).

The passing of this bill will serve as an omen for the near future of this one.

Honestly, I have no confidence Bernanke and Paulson. I watched the Senate hearing today and I was just disgusted.

Paulson tried to play off his power grab, but I think Krugman of the New York Times has it right.

However, there is one person in Congress that seems to "get it." Or at least a lot of it.

There are alternatives that are at least worthy of discussion.

No, I've been short selling the financials (they banned this practice, but they did not force current shorts to cover) and CRE companies, so I've made pretty decent money.

There are better solutions than Paulson's plan. I'm glad it got shot down.

"I could be wrong, and I have been wrong lots of times."

Anyway, I think I have decided to rent a $300/month apartment the rest of my life in America.

I've actually been thinking about looking for Biochem graduate studies overseas. If McCain/Palin end up winning this election, this endeavor would be an even stronger option for me, because I really am disgusted with the blundering of recent years. The last 8 years have been that incredible.

Where is the "kill them all" plan? While they're busy pushing private agendas under the guise of fixing the situation, someone should be pointing out the accountable parties... and killing them. You'd think that in a half-decent country, we'd have just a little civil unrest (with ninja).

Oh, you didn't hear? In celebration of our continued loyalty, Lun has decided to buy us all a mansion. I call the 2-story room with the balcony.

... we will all be boned. I wouldn't be suprised if they started a war with Iran if they came into office.

Well, the two plans that have gotten through to the vote have proved one thing in this whole messed up situ.

1) The inept rich will not struggle and will stay rich
2) The poor bastards like you and I will continue to struggle

Isn't it McCain who pushes for less market regulation? These greedy bastards need babysitters.

Capitalism, eh? You should see how badly Gordan Brown has fucked over the British economy. There is actually a list of his crap decisions on Wikipedia.

I think we should build an underground bio-dome in Antarctica. Then when zombies take over the earth, super-intelligent AIs start nuking everything, people get infected with alien super-plagues, we get hit by a meteor and everybody starts killing each other, we'll be okay. We'd miss the coolest apocalypse ever, but that's not the point.
