Someone had better get that (edited) quote.

Anyway, my parents are currently away in Thailand or something, and I'm staying at my grandmother's house. This means I don't have my usual computer (crappy laptop), cable TV, own bedroom and all sorts of stuff. Worst of all, I'm stuck on dial-up Internet until next Monday. So it's taking a long time to load pages. I may be around a bit less, not that anyone will miss me.

This topic is really just here so everyone can talk about how shit 56K is.

The first time I got a cable modem, I spent an hour trying to get an AOL chatroom to lag.

If your parents are gone, can I use your house to throw a huge, messy party?

I've decided to use this topic to report on my wonderful life with an old woman. >_>

So, I really hate fish. This is the third year I've come over here like this. Last year and the one before, she prepared fish for dinner on the first night, and I kept telling her not to. This time I rung her in advance to remind her I didn't like fish. Guess what was for dinner? :x

That afternoon we went to buy food for me to eat while I'm here. My grandma commented on how cheap it was to get a bunch of cucumbers, and how she saw one for the same price somewhere else. We went in to pay and crap, and she once again tells me the same story.

Just now, I came home and she has the TV on really loud, and the door to the room with the phone and doorbell closed. I was waiting outside for at least twenty fucking minutes.

She is also, by the way, a stereotypical Jewish mother/grandmother. Yes, it's ALL true.

There, now you can exactly pinpoint every detail to her personality from a mere four examples. That should make things easier.

Someone needs to make a song called "I hate dial-up", followed up by "I hate laptop keyboards". The keys are so squashed together, I keep hitting backspace instead of Page down/up and delete.

When she's at a restaurant with the family, does she order things she doesn't actually want, because she thinks somebody else would like to have some?

In our family, we find it most beneficial to not go out with her at all. Or in other cases, just not let old people order.

Your grandmother has a computer!? Be glad she has that much. Try living a week in a house that doesn't even have cable let alone a computer. If it wasn't for that stack of Far Side comics in the addic, I'd would have gone crazy.
