Star Wars DVD Release, BEWARE!!

I don't know if anyone has gotten the DVDs yet, I'm here to warn you.

Do not purchase these if you love the original films. George Lucas is out of his mind. These films put me in awe, the bad kind of awe. I even felt a little insulted by the editing out of characters and the continued altering of the films.

The worst offender is the final CLIMATIC scene of the trilogy where Luke takes off Darth Vaders helmet. Lo and behold GEORGE EDITED OUT SHAW and stuck Hayden Christiansons head in place of it! Whats next? Put Ewan McGreggor in for Alec Guiness' legendary performance?

The DVDs immediatly went to the back of my closet never to be touched again. I recommend you take your original films (hopefully not the special editions) and record them onto DVDs to live the trilogy the way it was meant to be.

I have that trilogy on DVD and alls that's altered is the whole bad bllue screen thing and some other things. Also they made parts of tatooi or however you spell it look more like the new ones, and because they suck, and have terrible effects like that, it made it look like a computer game, which was the only bad point.

Wait...so you are telling me that it is horrible that one of the greatest trilogies of all time has been digitally remastered (beautifully I must say), enhanced sound, and a smorgasbord of featurettes and doctumentaries?

As for the whole Hayden Christianson thing: the reason why that was done is because in the 1970s, who was told what Anakin would look like in his prime? It is Anakin Skywalker standing there back when he was still Anakin; it is not Hayden Christianson.

If one would complain about this, what is the point of releasing enhanced versions of DVDs? It is to create what could not be done in the 70s or whenever a movie was released. Ian McDiarmid, in my opinion, was a much better Emperor than Clive Revill.

Lastly, it is a SCI-FI movie. I could see if people would complain about if ever "Gone With the Wind" was enhanced and extra scenes and the such were added. Sci-fi largely is made about taking place out of reality and going to a unique world. Star Wars does that, and there is nothing wrong with enhancing the look and sound of a film and other minor changes.

I just want the xtras and the enhanced video and sound. Not the revamped edited scenes from the films. Geez, it if aint broke, dont fix it! That's all it needed, just awesome video and sound.

Another insulting part of the DVD is having greedo at tatooine shot first as if Han was defending himself. It's like Lucas is making it for younger crowd and destroying it.

Luke Skywalker must be 25 years old when he gets his dad back, people age, especially in that robot suit I bet. Why edit in the young version when you have the old version of Obi Wan and Yoda in spirit form?

I'm not complaining about the video and sound, which is INCREDIBLE, it's the fact that George Lucas has gone mental and keeps twisting the story and editing stuff. He edits the original actors out with the new actors in the prequel, which will never be classic. This 3 DVD set is insulting, George Lucas has destroyed his masterpiece.

Face it, when you saw Vader without the mask the first time, you were going "What the fuuuuck? That huge deep bass voice is a pudgy faced white old guy who sounds nothing like the voice with the mask on?"

The other thing that should have been fixed would have been Boba Fett dying.

Oh, and more Ewoks dying.

In fact, kill them all.

What? If you read the books, you'll find out Boba Fett never does actually die.

Actually, Boba Fett is rescued by Dengar.

Did your friend also tell you that Luke dies? Because I'm very positive he doesn't.
