How does everyone here feel about anime? Is this a community that hates it, or do they embrace it? Impossible's avatar is from Full Metal Alchemist... But other than that I haven't seen too much about anime on these boards.

Anyways, I thought that I would start a topic about anime. First to see what everyone else has watched, and then later maybe to discuss anime being aired currently. I hope some of you are interested.

Favorite Anime:
-One Piece (Pirates!)
-3x3 Eyes (Immortal punching bag!)
-Scrapped Princess (WTF?)
-Naruto (Ninjas!)
-Bleach (Strawberries!)
-Kannaduki No Miko (Holy shit that was crazy.)
-Tactics (Goblins!)
-Twilight of the Dark Master (Wow. That guy is badass.)
-Ronin Warriors (Classic!)
-08th MS Team (Only good Gundam show. Ever.)
-Wolf's Rain (How do they make wolves so cool?)
-Princess Mononoke (Did that guy just get decapitated by an arrow!?)
-Outlaw Star (Er... I don't know what to say about this one.)

Favorite Manga:
-Blade of the Immortal (Fuck Kenshin.)
-3x3 Eyes (Same as above.)
-Battle Angel Alita (Fuck Lara Croft.)
-Lupin III (Oooh.... Fujiko ^^.)
-Naruto (Same as above.)
-One Piece (Same as above.)
-Saiyuki (A taste for good smokes and bad women.)

There are many others I have seen/read and liked, but these are all I can be bothered to list. Feel free to share what you've seen :D .[/i]

Wow, Inderos has, just slightly, begun to redeem himself. Still a prick, though.

Does anyone know why Bleach is called Bleach? >_<
Right now I need new stuff to watch. I saw an episode of One Piece and it didn't grab my attention (Luffy's a loser, so is that other guy), although I may watch it eventually.
At the moment, with FMA over, Naruto and Bleach are all I've got besides WPP anime. And WPP tend to spend most of their time releasing Transformers just to piss me off, so I won't be seeing much Sonic X or RMEXE Axess for a while yet.

I don't know why Bleach is called Bleach, either.

One Piece is great. The characters grow on you. Start from episode 1 and watch it a bit. Most people say that it doesn't really start getting good until episode 15 or so... But you need all those previous episodes to understand the story. I personally like it from the beginning, though. List some of the other stuff you've seen, and maybe I can point you in the direction of other good shows.

What do you have against Transformers?

Not really a big anime fan here. Dragonball Z was a good concept, but funimation either destroyed it with their added scenes or Akira Toryomo just sucks at storywriting because I really hated how 10 minutes of passing time would be showcased as 10 fucking episodes.

As for cartoons on today, the Fox Box is only decent. Saturday morning cartoons really do stink now. The only ones worth watching for me is Sonic X and the Shaman one.

ah yes! The destruction of namek! Everybodys favorite episode! Full of minimal fight scenes and maximum flashbacks!

Anime
GTO (how did he always accomplish things??? He's phykic or however you spell it)

Trigun (this world is made of love and peace!)

Cowboy Bebop (Remember the fridge episode?)

Excell Saga (the main character is like our excel, only more sane and they get to shoot her)

Inuyasha (compelling storyline)

cant remember any others for the moment

Personally anime usually sucks ass. The whole my mouth is the size and shape of a football usually wierds me out a bit. How terribly unrealistic they are, well the characters are, animes are hardly meant to be realistic, and how when ever something ironic happens, people seem to fall over... the hell is up with that?! Though I didn't mind 3x3 Eyes, and the film of the best manga ever: Akira.

Like I've said before, the only anime I really have ever watched was Fullmetal Alchemist, which I found kind of interesting. Although, I'm not entirely certain what specifically makes anime anime. Is it the fact that it comes from Japan?

Either way, I don't think I'll be watching any anime anytime soon. I learned from FMA that deviating from the original comic makes for a very flimsy plot. And I doubt I'll be reading any manga either, because the plots are always so fucking complicated.

Hurrah, I win.

TECHNICALLY anime means it has to come from Japan. Cuz that's what it is basically. Japanese animation. But I feel that lately anime just has the overall concept of real real big eyes, odd mouths, and falling over when people say something stupid. Hmm...I wonder if Bikkel would have argued The Powerpuff Girls to be anime. It's totaly not though.

My new favorite animes:
Super Milk Chan
Perfect Hair Forever

Those are freakin awesome. (Why am I on this cloud?)
And Milk always calls people dumbasses. I love that fact.

Did anyone else catch those on Adult Swim? They are WAYY odd. Especially Perfect Hair Forever. Anyone who wants me to explain that show just let me know. I'll do the best I can.

Lol. I'll explain PHF later. It would take too much effort right now.

My favorite anime is Weiß Kreuz. It had a fairly good story. Sorcerous Stabber Orphen was funny, but a bit random in the story at times.

I also like reading the Fruits Basket manga. It leans more towards drama/angst, but it's interesting, since the story explores human emotions.

As for Inuyasha, I think it was somewhat over-rated. GOOD, but over-rated.

I was just never interested in Transformers... And maybe I'm just being stupid and paranoid, but the guy who runs WPP fucking hates my ass for no reason, and he's constantly looking for a reason to ban me. So it's possible he just knows I don't watch Transformers, I think I've mentioned it in their channel. >_<

I haven't seen a lot of anime, but I've also watched Final Fantasy Unlimited and Chrno Crusade.
Dubbed Sonic X sucks, to whoever said they watched that. Don't tell me the dubbing (besides voices) isn't painfully obvious, it's disgusting how many lame puns Eggman can say in a minute.

I watched an episode of transformers the other day and I literally laughed my ass off. It is the most nerdish thing in the entire universe, just hearing them speak and how all their names end in -on or something. Plus there's the fact they're robots who are fighting each other over some wierd crap called energyryon or megatron or something, it's kinda hard to follow, but it is the funniest crap aalive how terrible it is. If you haven't watched it, do so, it's so funny.

They have every monster ending in -on with Digimon too. I only remember Numamon or however you spell it. He's the one that you get 99% of the time on the digimon gigapets, unless you watch them for a long time. But I know a cool trick to get any random Digimon to pop out of the egg at the beginning. So that was sweet.
