The Passion of the copulating idiot (Mel) and TBC

I just remembered that a very long time ago I had heard of "the Passion of The Christ" a film directed by Mr. Mel Gibson. I recalled hearing about it in my classes and I thought it was going to cause a riot of sorts. It sort of disturbed me that mel got away with this crap. Now I'm not saying that the quality was bad or the plotline was wrong or way too boring. I'm saying that I hate the kind of commercialism of a religion. I know that I might be less offended if it were about another religion, but it still would piss me off. I'm pretty much fucking sick and tired of just sitting around and watching people make more money every minute. The bible channel is the 2nd biggest pile of shit, with the passion being the first, run by two fucking asswipes of a married old couple. I actually cared to read the newspaper when I saw that the US government was trying to stop all of this crap since they couldn't get in on the cash, so they wanted to shut down that poor excuse of a nonprofit organization. I don't have much time, but do you even know how much stuff they bought "for the company" including company jets, cars, and condos?!?!? I dont care one bit what they stand for, I hate it when people commercialize anything like religion or culture. I don't care if they were preaching something I like, those kind of things are still wrong.

The passion was a freaking huge pile of shit when it came to "simply telling the story". I've read about the crucifiction, I understood what happened, and I can assume what kind of pain was involved. I think Mel knew that anyone who wanted to know the story would be fully capable of reading a friggin bible passage or two. Now I don't know what your opinions have been stated before in some previous topic, so sorry in advance. But I encourage you to state your opinion in a humane and dignified way. I know that my statement can look less that what I ask, but trust me, the amount of cussing I normally would use is at its all-time lowest. Happy holidays.

Reminds me of the movie about Buddha staring Keanu.

I think the Passion is like any other movie. Everyone watches it, then they get sick of hearing about it. Whether or not they liked it doesn't matter. If people talk about a movie enough, you get sick of hearing it.
Nice Christmas topic, by the way. :)

I'm not wasting my precious hate with the Passion, still it's a really stupid film (well, except for the people who made money with it).

I get the feeling that this movie is blown out of proportion. I own it but haven't watched it yet. Mel Gibson is an amazing director so I get the feeling the movie isn't actually that bad. And unless he makes The Birth of a Nation I'm gonna love him(for Braveheart).

You know, I heard that mel was making a movie about jesus, and the first thing that crossed my mind was "Oh, I wonder what part of his life they'll be showing". It wasnt the 40 days and nights in the desert fighting temptation, it wasnt feeding a huge crowd, it wasnt healing the sick, it was the worst and most painful part of his life!

Heres another example of what Mel could have done:

I've got a great Idea! Lets do a movie on einstein! I don't want to do any of the good parts of his life, i wanna do the 6 hours where he had a bad burritto and was in the bathroom with really bad diarheaa and horrible gas!
