If you were making a "The Way" animated film, i would reccomend making a machinima (movie made in a computer game engine) with the Half-Life 2 engine.

hmm... I suppose one could steal the HL2 source, program it to be able to handle plunge-combat and then make some new models in a 3D program... yeah you could!

No.
Because 1: Everything pixar makes is for kids (not that it's bad, it's just for kids) and the way has some pretty adult themes (what with all the blood and whatnot).
2: No-one other than pixar has A. the technology and B. the time to make a 3D movie that long.
3: It just wouldn't work.

Its a not such a bad idea but it will take lots of lots of time and to make a movie you
will have to cut out alot of parts and it might ruine to people or w'e... i guess its just to complicated.
