This is indeed dead.
With the introduction of the story mode to The Way I feel this is no longer of much use. I was once so close to finishing it, but lost everything I had on my PC due to a bad love history that I don't want to get into.

Either way, download the new versions and fly through it. Keep multiple save games for special moments if you like, results in nearly the same thing now. Sorry for the disappointment.
