mm not always... i start from a small story with a begining and an ending.. mostly i get to know the characters along the way of making the game's story while programming and i'm already working on a game for 1 year and a half now and it's about half the size of the way... i happen to have social life as well and a girlfriend who's very time demanding... how does lun survives? or is he just a cooky alien in a basment?? :wink:

with no personal life whatsoever :lol:

Actually, from what I understand, Lun is an everything man. He goes to college, can bench quite a bit, and used to be lead (singer and guitarist?) in a band. And as he's already demonstrated, he's quite the thinking man too.

Lun is SO smart he made a temporal paradox machine creating an endless loop of time in his house so that he may forever work on whatever he needs. The only problem with it is that it gives him gas.

now that i think about it... i gotta get me one of those... just a small question... has anybody ever SEEN a picture of lun... as a proof of his humanity?

I still find it a little unbelievable that 6 months is needed. I'm a quick worker, yeah, but he's got a plunge and CMS system finished unless he wants to add new aspects (he probably won't).

Then you have map-making (Only lengthy part here for Lun is that he uses those panorama/pics)

Scripting is quick and easy to check.

Spriting takes awhile yeah.

Plus he obviously has the plot down, since foreshadows so smoothly

Actually the longest thing Lun's spent time on was the menu system which almost made him want to quit. don't forget that each of those buttons had to go through 3 "paint" programs to get it's look (Lun uses free stuff so he's a bit limited) read an hour and a half for each lyn rock, blan stone, crippler, ect. button, not to mention placing and coding.

Spriting does take a very long time.
For map-making he had to either create or find a tileset he could use. and as someone else mentioned earlier Estrana took forever to make.
Then you have to put in nearly a thousand conditioned events for what the poeple say. (aka looking in cabinet and remarking"nothing here.")

Plotting takes forever (I know, this what I primarily do with him) you have to make sure nothign contradicts anything else over 25 hours of game play and has a coherrant story line that can be followed. THen you have to edit that story line and leave out non-esstentials so the game will flow quick enough for the players.

Actually E6 is almost finished except Lunis planning to release it concurrent with another secret project which is the focus of his time right now.

and I can tell you that an on-line plinge game idea is in the first stages of plausibility testing and has about a 25% chance of being made. Lun has toyed with an engine and is expereimening with other already out there which might be usable. (but since this doesn't pay it falls into the "it would be nice to..." catagory.) If the game is made it would likely be without graphics but include the full orginal plunge idea including initial throwing attacks.

fwacho... you make me wonder if that secret project has anything to do with the current way series (maybe about trazuin's escape... a prequel or something), another character on the way... (aka another wanderer...), a sequel to crestfallen or just a crestfallen remake... or just something new all together... could u shed some light on that?
and how many ppl are working on the story of the way actually?? Because i have to admit I tought it was only lun... Which would be impossible to pull of...
