The Way is a game that lends itself to theorizing about what will happen next. Some commercial RPGs, like Xenosaga, have at least as many mysteries, but the clues and resolutions tend to be so obscure that, as a player, I don't feel like I can concoct any meaningful hyptheses about what's really going on. The Way is infinitely better in that regard. In part, this seems to be because the mysteries operate at a much more human (and therefore understandable) scale. Questions whose answers are based on the peculiar cosmogony of a game are inherently unanswerable by a real-world player who is unfamiliar with these in-game peculiarities. However, a question like, "Is Alan still alive?" is based almost entirely in concepts that the players already comprehend.

It's hardly likely that every outstanding question could be answered and then a whole new batch introduced. After all, some of the current questions are of the "What is really going on, ultimately?" nature, so once those were answered, there wouldn't be room for many new mysteries.

Hmm, On the topic of Midian... Yes, there must be more too it, after I think about it. It was changed from Gaius to Jeruh, which could mean it isnt important, or became VERY important.

There is alot if evidence to it being a place with the people Rhue killed/was near when they died. For instance, people there say things like "I wanted to be a forerunner once, but no longer" and a shadowlord there says "Jopaga..." and a person downstairs says "I've been sitting here a long time, but I dont feel like moving" and other things. All hints on them being, well, dead. (Except the Jopaga one, but you can see what I mean) Also, everone there is strangely calm...

Oh, and everyone there is transparant, but thats probably not relevent. As I said, Rhue might not have killed Midian directly, he may just have walked over his corpse. But, yeah, it wont be that simple. I'll play it again, and look over it.

Oh, and since when was Lexus in the city? If I'm not mistaken, its just ruined Estrana with a small part edited. Lots of "Leftover" events are still in the map.

There certainly are signs that many of the peole there are dead, but I don't see what that should have to do with Rhue. As I suggested above (theory 4), maybe everyone and everything destroyed during the current crisis is there in that dreamland; that would include both dead people and the city of Estrana.

I don't recall seeing Lexus in dream Estrana, but somebody asked me why she might be there, so I answered. (There was some discussion in another thread that she might still be a playable character, in the dream world.)

I think Lyrra's a more viable candidate for that, as her role isn't near finished. Lexus is sort of used up.

Agreed. I didn't find Lexus nearly as interesting as Lyrra while she was alive. Plus, we seem to have already gotten essentially the whole story on her.

(Of course, I thought we wouldn't see any more of Kloe after Lide, so the accuracy of my predictions isn't always high.)

I liked lexus cuz she had a tendence of bringing out some of rhue's humanity... in the end he got feelings for that girl. And i'm not quite sure if she's vanished yet. As i read in another post, soraya might not be dead (due to a battle event backup in the episode 5 menu) and thus we might find out if she lied about lexus or not. Second thing I wonder is what has been discussed already but i doubt in detail: the fact that the girl from the intro with her parents was also called lexus... maybe coinsidence or another storyarc...and i doubt lun would simply invent characters to let them die just after one episode... we'll see later on...

Since the currect Rhue is clearly composed of elements from more than a single individual, it's quite possible that he can visit dream Estrana because one of those people is dead. In this theory, he would probably only travel there when his other aura(s) are not actiively alive to disprove his being dead--i.e. when he's unconscious.

I thought Lexus seemed like a phony right from the get-go. She was ridiculously overeager to meet Rhue, and their inital adventures together appeared to be a pretty transparent contrivance. Seeing through her this way, I was not very taken with her personality.

As to Soraya, I think the most likely explanation of that bit of code is that Lun was just fooling around. The events might come to pass, but I highly doubt it. (As to whether Sorya lied, it's quite clear that she did not. Only after Lexus dies do you get to fight alongside Cetsa, and her battle style is identical with Lexus'. And while I'm talking about this, does anybody elese think Lun should give Cetsa's and Lexus' X-life style an individual name?)

I don't know what girl you're talking about; I don't recall anybody else named Lexus.

I liked Lexus because she SEEMED like a normal character, with nothing to hide except the OBVIOUS secret life as an arastotzi. Sorya's revelations came as a complete surprise to me and I actually felt the same way as Rhue did when he heard her say those things. Disbelief, anger, ...

All other characters are more about the mystery than about how they behave in normal life. Lexus just seemed to be a girl who wanted to get to know Rhue better. That alone is reason enough for her to want to meet him over and over again. It makes that part so good, in my opinon.

Read my posts, please... As I said, you never get anywhere near that area, and its just a bit left over from the ruined estrana map, Lun just edited that slightly and made it into the city. Theres a lot of left over bits. Check the "Estrana in ruins" Map, and you will see she's there too.

People around here seem to get a lot of weird ideas from reading things in the source code that aren't actually in the game.

Well, I'm pretty damn certain I saw Lexus in the game, since you could run around the edge of The City pretty easily. Was this Lexus who is apparently in Estrana in ruins actually reachable?

I think Lexus obviously cared for Rhue, especially near the end of her life.
