As to that last question, consider the following points. First, those certainly may not have been Alan's legs; if the Phantom Slasher can have a facial outline so similar to Gaius, yet not be Gaius, then why can't two lyns have the same trousers? (Of course, Gaius may yet be the Phantom Slasher, so maybe this specific argument isn't so compelling.)
Second, it does seem likely that whoever was in the bushes is still alive. Rhue is not one to dawdle on The Way; this has been a fact emphasized since the beginning of episode one, when it was suggested he might catch up to and join the forerunners. It is therefore hightly doubtful that he's going to go back to find that dead body. Since it seems kind of pointless for Lun to put the legs there and then not have their owner play any further role, this would mean that the person lying in the bushes would have to move forward on The Way to meet up with our (anti)hero Rhue. That's a lot easier to manage if he's alive and he doens't have to be carried the whole way.
So whether or not those are Alan's legs, it seems likely their owner still lives. This would obviously be particularly significant, because then he might be a witness to the identity of the Phantom Slasher. Of course, there are also situations where it might appear the the Phantom Slasher has killed people for no other reason than to prevent their having witnessed him. The murder of the tavern wench definitely could fall into this category. (The Slasher hesitates quite a while between saving her and beheading her, you should remember.) However, if Alan (or whoever) appeared to the Phantom Slasher to be dead, this might not be a problem.
First of all, I don't think just wearing blue pants qualifies as being disguised as Alan.
Seocond, if that is Alan and he is deceased, how is Rhue going to find out about it? Rhue isn't going to go back to that forest (unless he has to, because he's now at the end of the The Way), so either somebody else will need to tell Rhue of Alan's death, or they will have to carry Alan's body forward to wherever Rhue is. The first option is lame and undramatic, and the second is somewhat silly. Why would anybody carry Alan's body around?
If someone find Alan alive, it probably won't be Kloe since she was last seen following Rhue into the cave where Gauis was waiting. Maby it will be Traziun. Of course this is only if that therory is correct.
