There are multiple shadow swords, the ones we know of are Night Reaper and Ghost Horror, their "holy" counterparts are the illuminati. Thats as much as we know about them.(Atleast off the top of my head)

Virtually everyone believes that Rhue wields either a Shadow Sword or an Illuminati blade. There have been a total of three people who have DEFINITELY used Shadow Swords, but I'll not say who exactly they are; if you're asking a question like this, I'm presuming you haven't finished the games, so I don't want to give away too much.

Then their is the therory that shadow swords and illuminati are the same thing, or that Rhue has a sword that is a mix between a shadow sword and illuminati.

Yeah. There's been a lot of speculation on the Shadow Swords and Illuminati. Which only makes sense, I guess, since so little is really known about them. I hope that we'll at least learn enough else about them to narrow down the possibilities come Episode VI.

no, i've finished all the episodes, i just dont read into things too deeply when im playing

but i do remember traziun saying something about it cant be evil, people just cant handle power, something to that effect in episode 2.

so i could see where that shadow sword/illuminati theory is coming from. another question is why does everyone say that the swords soul is taking over him or something to that effect? it would seem strange for a sword to take over rhue, thus making him a maniacal killer/evil entity, yet he still searches for serena. undoubtedly something strange has happened to him from that formula, but i dont think his sword is taking over him..
the sword is just a symbol for power, and rhue in his desperation will do anything to get what he wants. i think he was evil all along because he never really cares about anyone, he just didnt have the power to be evil.

anyway i was just wondering if i missed something, cuz i played through kind of quickly[/quote]

To answer your questions would take a really, really long time. I suggest that you read back through the old threads in this forum. There are compelling arguments, for example, that Rhue or his sword absorbs part of Jed's mind when he kills him, or tht Rhue's consciouness is sometimes resident in his sword, rather than his body.

As you'd seen earlier in the game, Rhue was a lot more courteous. Later on in the game, as he killed more people and his sword took more and more control of him, he became more of a dick and he killed people with reckless abandon.

He started going downhill in the "politeness" area pretty quickly, though. He never uses the "Hail, wanderer" greeting after his first meeting with Strata. (At least, I don't think he does...)

According to Traziun, swords can't be evil. So assuming he knows what he is talking about, then no, the shadow swords are not evil.

We don't know if they're evil. As Traz said, the fact itself of having such power is enough to make someone more evil than he was. And anyway they would be evil for the one who wields them, not who is hit by them.

Normal swords aren't evil, but the shadow swords are.

Can I have my two cents back? I'm saving up to pay for drivers ed and every bit counts.

When did Traziun talk about if again? I'm sure when he said it he was talking about the shadow swords, or atleast had the shadow swords in mind when he said it.
