You're all fools! The real identity of the phantom slasher..

It's Dippy! It's so painstakingly obvious!

Think about it, as Rhue says, Red Swiftfoots have poor eyesight. The Phantom Slasher is black to portray this lack of sight, and when using his poer as the phantom slasher, he gives others this terrible condition, and then kills them, to show to the world how bad having poor eyesight is.

Also, those leaves are very precariously placed when Rhue is trying to catch Dippy, proof that he has a sinister, devious mind.

Also, whenever Dippy is about to be caught, he disappears! And, obviously due to Dippy's mind control, they do not realise it, and think they have possesion of him, and whenever Rhue tries to catch Dippy, he uses his evil powers to summon his minion, Strata, to punish Rhue for disrespecting the mighty swiftfoot.

Dippy's race also gives further proof of his hatred of Rhue, as Dippy runs at Rhue, menacingly, and then disappears again as soon as Rhue gets close. This is what starts to mentally unhinge Rhue, which are the cause of the sinister events that follow, (and also, it has been disputed that Dippy's magic time-altering skills mean that this is the reason that anything bad has ever happened to Rhue ever.) The same purpose is intended when Rhue sees Dippy in his Phantom Slasher form at the end of episode 1.

Later, in episode 2, Strata appears, looking for Rhue again. This is obviously because Dippy wishes for Rhue to be punished further. Rhue manages to escape, but is then caught in episode 3. Strata, through the power of Dippy, intimidates Rhue into admitting that he is not worthy of even thinking that he owns Dippy, and Dippy shows up for a moment to watch, then ordering Strata to knock Rhue into the pits. Then Strata says, "I don't want the Swiftfoot either, not any more." Which translates roughly into "Oh great and powerful Dippy, I am not worthy of gazing upon you with my unholy eyes! Make me do your bidding!" Upon which, Dippy orders Strata to prove his loyalty by knocking Dippy down into the pits, to further torment Rhue.

When in the pits, Rhue calls Dippy Skippy, which angers him greatly, so Dippy runs off to plot evil schemes (i.e the rest of the events in the way.) On his departure, making Rhue shout out Dippy's true name ("Your name isn't Skippy! It's Dippy!")

Dippy's last direct interaction with Rhue, is when Dippy orders Rhue to save his life, as the monster chasing him is his one true enemy. The Pontifex Maximus' brother Jimgrolen. After Rhue's purpose has been rendered non-existant, Dippy then disappears to plot the evil which Rhue will befall.

ooh... close, but you trip at the finish line. We all know that Dippy doesn't dissapear, but rather he takes over Gaius's body after Gaius tries to kill him. I'd post the link to the chart, but I don't even think its needed in this case.

ah, I see. Dippy's evil schemes thicken.

And The fact that this theory has been discussed before is further proof!

It never gets old, I chuckle everytime I see him mutter "flaming..." when he gets attacked by Dippy.

That diagram's hilarious. And the theory makes perfect sense. It seems so obvious now! :D

Maybe you'll have to fight Dippy as a final boss in the last part of the Way? Now that'd be a battle to remember!
