Okay, I've just replayed the entire series, and I have a theory about the Phantom Slasher:
Gaius was the phantom slasher, but someone (probably someone with an Illuminati) returned him to normal. Then, he discovered Rhue is now a phantom slasher, too... and he wants to return Rhue to normal as well... what's this theory based off? Charsets, of course.
I apologize if this possibility has been explored before, but I'm too lazy to look back through the forums...

Hah, I never tried editing charsets. I noticed how Gaius and the Phantom Slasher's faceset seemed the same, but thought nothing of it. I'm more concerned with not the words they speak, not the way they look, but the body language. DON'T ask me why I think sprites have body language.

Here's what I think happened:
Gaius and Midian used to both wield Shadow Swords.
Some event triggered the Landorin massacre.
Midian tried to kill Rhue, but Rhue took over Midian's body.
Rhue, possessing Midian's body and sword, went on a search for Serena.
Sometime between episodes 1 and 4, Gaius's (who was the phantom slasher) shadow sword was destroyed and Gaius learned how to destroy them.
Gaius wants to destroy the shadow sword Rhue has for some reason...
Yeah, not much, but it's not so much a theory as a connection between a bunch of theories I've read.

I don't think two people who both wield Shadow Swords could be together since the swords seem to make the person wielding it get rid of any other shadow swords near it by any meens necisary. Though that might have been what caused the Landorin Massacre...

heres what i think happened
in Rhue's charsets, he has a naked charset which seens to be he is in one of those experimental cylindar glass thingy with blueish green liquid in it. so he might be an experimental object or an object of evil himself made by some psychotic nerdball.
just a guess.

Another theory:
Serena is Scatha and Slade's youngest sister. I can't back this up with much information, but I thought I'd throw a random idea out...

hey cmon, we've seen the whole thing right after Rhue gets his special on Slade.
i think the mother was reffering the Young One as Serene, and the girl that gets her face burned is Scatha, and slade is the boy.

i think the younger one is either Serena or Cetsa at the moment.
