Dream Estrana in Episode 6

I was looking at the Episode 6 test and Episode 6 backup monster battles in rm2k (the ones Sage commented on a good while back) and I noticed a few things about character skills. Namely, that Slade, Lexus, Midian, Sacrifa, and Sorya all have unique skills. Slade has a rage move (much like Scatha's random enraging, and even uses the Scatha_Rage switch, although might not in Ep6) that he didn't have before, Lexus has three skills, XL Oasis, Lifespring [Life Spring, Spring Life?], and Wellspring [Well Spring?], Midian's got 7 equippable blades each with a unique skill on it, Sacrifa has 10 unnamed moves that seem to come in groups of 3 (the tenth is a little different), and Sorya has a move that allows her to flirt with Rhue in order to learn new skills. Lexus and Sorya also have double attacks each modified by their stats. And Slade has a new character slot reserved for him as well (29: Midian, 30: Sacrifa, 31: Sorya, 32: Lexus, 33: Slade).

Sorya could easily be a character, sure, but the other four are all dead. Slade and Lexus are, Midian's in Dream Estrana, so he probably is, and Sacrifa is either dead or he fought off the Phantom Slasher. Why would they have unique new character skills if they weren't going to be playable characters?

So they're going to be playable, but how? Unless Rhue's sword or something has the power to resurrect people (Hey, side note, what if Rhue found out that his name wasn't in the Book of Eve or that Lexus's name wasn't in the Book of Sermeot), then they're going to have to be in Dream Estrana (Or the Dream Estrana plane, whatever it may actually be [The Upper Way?]). And if they are, that means that there will be an extensive Dream Estrana scene in Episode 6 that will involve battles. Maybe we'll actually find something out. Woo!

If rhue is the ps, rhues sword absorbs auras and dream estrana is the manifest of rhues sword draining loads upon loads of aura and other stuff. Then maybe those dead poeple will help you in dream estrana and possibly other dream realms.

Lyrra can't help Rhue coz he killed her and she wanted to kill him!! How she'll be in one party with Rhue??

Rhue killed Lyrra by accident, or because of his sword. Lyrra tried to kill Rhue because of her sword and because she thought Rhue was actually responsible for her father's death. What exactly makes it so she "can't" be in his party?

WEll if mrhue has absorbed lyrras soul aura whatever, then he might encounter her in dream estrana with jed, and jed will have told lyrra aobut what happened and stuff.

Ehrgeiz, I have NO idea what the point of that post was, so I can't directly respond to it. My point was that Rhue wasn't responsible for Jed's death - there's a difference between that and killing him. Jed was already going to die.

I sort of understand the point he's trying to get at.

But, if Lyrra is in Dream Estrana, would she recall her death? We know Jed didn't...

Neither did Midian. In fact, nobody in The City seems to recall anything like them, say, being dead.

Even if Lyrra was in Dream Estrana, do you think she'd be in your party? I mean come on, can Lyrra even fight? Er, without a Shadow Sword? I doubt people would take their Shadow Swords with them to Dream Estrana, and I also doubt Lyrra could otherwise fight. My bet's on that she'd just be sitting there, living with Jed (or whatever the heck people do in Dream Estrana, probably not living).

Ever had a mage in an rpg? They suck ass in fighting and will die if hit more than three times in succession. But they have skills to help you. Lyrra might have some crazy skills to help you even if she can't punch to save her life, I'm sure.

Besides Dirk isnt a particually good fighter but hes always in battle.

Even if she wouldn't have these powers in normal life though, lyrra might have them in dream estrana. Its pretty clear that most people who have dealings with shadow swords are affected in some way or another. Slade got stabbed by one and became suicidal (although thats not a definite link). God knows we've seen enough to show that Rhue has been affected by his sword. Lyrra used one and was killed by one so perhaps in dream estrana this allows her some sort of power or effect on her.

I quite like the idea of battling in dream estrana. I can only imagine what Rhue might be capable of.

True on Dirk, except he only has two decent skills and one can only be used once a battle. No one really knows why he's in your party, heh.

Lyrra as a mage? I don't really see it. Everything in The Way combat revolves around swords. And yeah, she could keep her Shadow Sword in Dream Estrana, but unless she did, I don't think she's ever used a sword before. Quote Strata after he beats Cetsa... "Lyrra, you're spattered with
blood! What are you doing with that sword?" 'Course, that could mean Strata's just asking what she's doing to get herself spattered with blood, but I take it to mean that she's never held a sword before. Yeah, Lyrra'd make an ideal mage character, but I don't think she'd really be good at anything related to combat.

Plus, even if she could do something in combat, I don't think she'd want to. And then there's the whole thing where she doesn't have any XL gain code or any special skills. If the others are in Episode 6 and they do engage in battle, chances are Lyrra's not going to be one of them. But who knows. Lun could definitely add in some code.

And, uh, a few weeks... if this rate keeps up and we go through all the waves, a good number of people are going to be waiting a few months even if they ARE on beta. Eh well, I'm sure it's very much worth the wait.

I think everyone underrates Dirk. Sure, he can't do much damage. But he has valentine and that wind spell. That wind spell is, in my experience, second only to hurricane cut as an attack skill. It doesn't have spectacular damage, but it blinds the entire enemy party. Blind lasts longer than prone and makes most non-boss enemies completely useless. Hell, it makes some bosses nearly useless, and the extra duration can mean a lot when you've got a long fight ahead of you. His Earth Whisper, while it doesn't always work, can do fairly decent damage and status injuries, as well.

Think of Dirk as an auxiliary character - he can, on occasion, be a lifesaver; otherwise, he can absorb damage and you don't have to worry about his absence.
