Face Sets

It seems like there are minor characters that have face sets while some of the main characters do not. For example, the girl in one of the first scenes in episode one where Rhue is asking about Serena around the campfire has a face set. She was killed shortly after that scene and has not appeared since. I also noticed that none of the others around the campfire had face sets. Wes and Dana also had face sets and they played a very minor role. Then there are main characters like Dirk and Sorya that do not have face sets. Does anyone have any ideas about why the face sets were used this way?

Well, both of those were in E1, so it is kind of a thing that Lun dropped (sans Rhan in E2).

all those facesets were rtp-facesets. and most of the main character facesets are made by someone called maya (?)

These things do suggest that this has no real significance. There were some other things about episode one that was different too. For example, when Rhue, Wes, and Dana fight the headhunter on the bridge, the headhunter is shown like the creature enemies are shown instead of a character set graphic. However, this also probably means nothing.
