SNAP

Why does Rhue allow himself to 'snap' on that dude's son in Episode 4... but he won't do anything to get back at that idiot Strata? And what is Strata's problem with Rhue? He doesn't seem to act like a jerk to anyone else except Rhue. And Rhue doesn't take the time to explain to anyone what is going on... he could have just paused to tell Kloe that Strata was a thief and not him, or he could tell Lyrra that Strata almost cut his face in half just to steal a rabbit, or that he shoved Rhue into the pits... If I was Rhue... I'd sneak up behind Strata and shake up a bottle of the blue-explode-liquid just before shoving it in shirt.

Thats because Rhue is a moron, but do you really lyrra would've beleived him if he had said that he was a theif and everything? And Rhue didnt care at all about what Kloe thought of him at the time, so really why waste the energy

Except for the whole part where he suddenly finds himself trying to avenge Lyrra like the good hero he is. [sarcasm] I know a thread was already made on that topic... but nothing about Strata makes any sense. He's a jerk for five episodes. He nearly killed Rhue for no real reason at all, and I guess we can assume Rhue isn't the only person he's done that to, so why would he care at all when Lyrra dies?

Also, maybe he didn't realize what he had until after he lost it. Lyrra wasn't really "his" any more, he dumped her to get some hot lovin' from Cetsa. In any case, it was too quick of a turnaround for my liking.

Perhaps after viewing Rhue casually kill Lyrra, Strata realized what a jerk he’d been and decided to change his personality.

That's the most likely case

Obviously,Strata was being an idiot, and right when Rhue killed Lyrra,Strata hit puberty, changing the way he thinks!

Maybe Strata hadn't ever seen anyone he cared about die before. It's definitely possible, because other than for admiration, he never really gave a thought about what happened to anyone but himself. Then he got involved with Lyrra. After awhile he realized the relationship wasn't exactly what he had in mind, so he decided to stop it. But he didn't realize that he actually did love Lyrra in the "lovable cute little girl" way (since that's more or less her personality). And then, she died. And he realized that he couldn't as easily leave her behind as he could everyone else on the entire Way, and that he really didn't want to see her DIE, even if he didn't want to be the one who had to put up with her helplessness.

No payback on Strata in E5? Simple reason. Too busy trying to keep up with Gaius.

That's a really good way of explaining it, Jabbo. Though I still have my doubts whether he actually cared for Lyrra, she was rather endearing in a drama club sort of way. No, I don't know what that means. :?

He cares for Lyrra, alright. Two people who have a personality change in Ep5 end up being crushed. [ Strata, Cesta ] I think Strata's case was more that he really realised he did care for Lyrra.

Those are all very good possibilities. But i still say its along the lines of just reaching puberty.Do you concur?
