You can't open it (the chest he's talking about is in the Arastotzi Shanty).
Looking at the event in RM2k confirms this - when you activate it the only thing that happens and could ever happen is that it displays the message, "Locked."
So there's nothing in it and no point in trying. Sorry, no uber-weapons in there for ya!

Don't forget that Lun is amazing at hinding code, tkae E6 for example he hides code for oppining doors, so he could have easily hid the code to open the chest.

No. Look at the event in RM2K. There's nothing there, and nothing that could be activated by any sort of switch. No secret chest codes for the empty chest, sorry.

You could probably do it with a common event.

or move event or change event locations, Lun could do it.

No offense, but you people seem to have a very dim perspective about what you're talking about.
You can look through the common events, and I gurantee you won't see anything related to opening that chest. Not to mention creating a common event to open one obscure chest would be utterly impracticle.
Change even location? What on earth? Even locations can only be changed on the same map. And there's nothing else on the map that could possibly be exchanged, without completly ridiculous and almost idiotic scripting. And as for "move event"... that's about the most vague thing you could've said. What would be moved? How would moving it help? There's nothing else on the map that could be used!
The only remote possibility is that there's some cutscene somewhere, unknown to anyone, that shows Rhue going in and opening the chest and then leaving. Even then it would have to be after Rhue had left Estrana (someone going to explain this?) since the chest has no condition where it appears open. A bit unlikely, seeing as how we've had people who've pretty much gone through the entire game square by square, reading every line of code in the editor.
Let me just put this in simple terms: You can not open the center chest in the Arastotzi shanty ever. Not under any circumstances.

Thanks, Jera, I tried to explain as much. Apparently my point didn't get across. Sheesh, people, the chest ain't THAT big a deal!

It really would be easily possible, all you need is something to track the hero's X Y coordinates. Not to mention Poenaensis is right. In order to make the chest appear open, you could just use Move Event to rotate the chest to face left. It would take under 10 lines of code. However, I know it's not the case for this chest.

Soon people are going to think you can open the chests in the mantalan battlegrounds...

Sorry if I'm giving false hope. I haven't seen any evidence that Lun ever does anything like this, however it would be a great tactic for the programmer to use in a game like The Way where people often go into the code to find secrets.

Really? Which ones, out of curiosity? I haven't really played the game through in too much depth, so I'm not sure which doors open.
