No more discusion. THIS IS THE NATURE OF RHUE'S SWORD!
Ok ok ok... When I created the way I intended to make it a good "Just for kicks" story, but I was focusing more on the, to use Hemmingway's metaphor, the underwater portion of the iceberg. What you don't see, but what is implied by what you do see. Lets take it from step one.
Where does Rhue get the sword? As a young child from two ominous individuals who remain nameless. I intended this as Rhue's sexual awakening. He has become aware of his "sword" by an experience involving two people, a man and a woman. If you hadn't figured it out already the two people are Rhue's parents and they are in the process of engaging in intercourse when Rhue accidently views the act. In doing so he becomes aroused and aware of his own sexuality and two "auras" are embeded in him until he becomes aware of them. In this case they are the "Piercer" and "Slasher." I think I made those two Auras' meanings obvious enough.
Rhue finds a guide in the form of Traziun later who brings out the awareness of these two Auras. They are first recovered around the time he meets Lyra. Rhue has a sexual attraction to Lyra which is facilitated by a well meaning older man Traziun.
Rhue comes into conflict with Lyra's father obviously and we all remember the results. Rhue learns two more Auras that I use to symbolize mail aggresivness. They are Air and Fire Auras, fire is the destructive nature of the mail libido, air is the intense jealousy and insecurity that allow it to burn.
The remainder of the Auras are gained from Slade, if you hadn't noticed Rhue gains them after "Piercing" him. Slade is Rhue's first homo-erotic experience. Slade who has rejected females and regards them as evil eventually is driven by shame to kill himself, and in a final embrace of his nature he attempts to embrace heterosexuality by "Piercing" a beautiful female - Cetsa. However his embrace of heterosexuality is clumsy and he only ends up hurting her.
Gaius is a dyed in the wool I'm here I'm Queer homosexual who has no qualms about trying to control Rhue's "Sword" for his own benifity. Gaius at the end of episode 5 attempts to steal Rhue's masculinity from him by asking him to give him his sword. He's trying to take Rhue's self determination and masculinity and have his own way with him. I put more about Gaius in the "What Will Happen In Ep 6" thread. You can read it there.
So what's the Phantom Slasher? have you figured it out yet? You should have. It's obvious, but I won't ruin it for the slow ones.
I'll start a Kloe thread later, she's a whole other story.
Oh yeah, you might be thinking "Why does it seem Traziun is turning on Rhue?" Well as Rhue has gained power and came into his own masculinity Traziun feels, in typical masculine aggresive fassion, that his top dog position is in peril. It's animal instinct.
I'll write more later, for now you'll have to be content with this.
Please no responses, I don't want them gumming this thread up when Lun makes it a sticky.
