It's not. What were you expecting? An epic final battle between good and evil that ends in all living happily ever after... I'm not 100% anti-cliche, and that kind of thing can be good if done well and in detail.

However, the Way's not like that. Rhue's story isn't over, but it can unfold anywhere from that ending, and that makes it a good ending for the story followed in the games. We don't find out the answers to all the questions, but Lun's given us enough clues to make guesses and theories for years.. look at the dedicated community surrounding crestfallen and this forum.

And there's alternative endings...

I think it said quite clearly that it was the beggining.

... heh... actually, I didn't even think of that...

And even if it didn't say that. You can hardly call it the end with all the stuff left loose for us to think on.

What if that was the begining? I mean it would be messed up but it would be like the ending is the begining, and everything is leading up to it....and I have no Idea what I'm saying.

I think fwacho said somewhere that the way isn't time circular. Don't know where though.

I had an idea for an RPG once where time is cyclic... but with every cycle, the timeline grows and becomes more complex. The main character is for some reason outside these cycles, and is able to witness the same tragic events over and over again... I never got any further than that, though.
