First post-help me

Greetings. I am Legend of the Past. But you can call me Legend, if you feel lazy.

I have played 'The Way' games roughly a year and a half ago, and have since met quiet a few obstacles in my attempts to replay it. Mainly, the dark section of the Ep.1 Cave.

Now, I've looked around. I've tried the 'Keep walking in every direction besides the opposite one' but it just seems to fail. My Video Card is terribly dark, and even at the top of my gamma I still can't see nothing, neither the map provided several times on the boards or tune up the gamma. I'm feeling rather stuck and frustrated.

You can always open Episode 1 up in RM2K and set up a teleport.

I recoomend the The Way walkthrough
And if that doesn't work, open a teleport event like the Doc said.

If you have acces to it, rm2k can help you out here, a little cheating perhaps, but it's not really anything that borks stuff.

Ah, there's the thing: I'd set one up beside the Save Point, but I don't know where the path begins and ends, and don't want to lose any plot sequences and\or Notch Items.

And the walkthrough just says it's 'Linear'. It doesn't really help me.

There's no story sequences in the cave, just a few conversations. If you get up to E4, the missing stats shouldn't matter.

And the walkthrough just says it's 'Linear'. It doesn't really help me.

I didn't see that part, as I found it while playing E5. Sorry 'bout that.

Just play the game in rm2k and hold down control. to walk through it all.

You could always go through RPG Maker and turn of the darkness-maker.

How do I turn off the Darkness Maker? And again, I really don't see on the Maker where the dark maze begins and ends. I'd just teleport outside of the maze if I could, but it just ain't that simple.

I'll try that out a bit later.

Call me petty, but I dislike skipping the small bits too.

Forget about it.

There are no more story sequences in this part of the cave. If you really want to set up a teleport, 058/126 should work just fine and you won't miss anything.

058\126... Okay. I'll see..

And regardless of help, once I finish episode 6, you can expect me to start theorising along. I hope I'll be able to enjoy myself in your company, and vice versa.

EDIT: Yep, it worked. Wish me luck on episode 2!

AAAAhhh!! I don't beleive it! Why don't they put these things in the readme or anything? What other cool shortcuts are there, Sage?

Oh, and Legend, don't feel bad about skipping bits. I know what you mean - I'm like that too - but you'll end up missing a lot of episode two's sidequests if you don't use the walkthrough. Probably. Maybe. Okay forget it. That part in Ep 1 got me annoyed as well cos for a while you can't see anything at all. Lun is somewhat crazy, like any self-respecting genius should be.

Crazy? Don't know about it, but he seems sadisitic. I have faint memories of the screams in the cave of Ep.2... MY SCREAMS! Though it was somewhat easier this time around. I remembered how I did it last time, and it was a lot simpler this time.

But yeah, there was never a genius without a glitter of madness.

Holding down shift makes messages display instantly... useful if youre replaying and want to skip through a conversation (Lun likes his pauses etc.)

Also, the various function keys have useful commands... one of them opens up a switch/variable altering window. Can't remember which one though.

F4 windows the screen, and F5 changes the window size.
F9 opens the switch/variable window.
F12 brings you back to the title screen.
