Can you imagine the way becoming a MMORPG i think it would be cool. no, the world is the way but you're not rhue, just a wanderer and you level up and become higher lyn or a blood lyn and you plunge.... that would be great!!
what do you think?

People have toyed with the idea before. I think it was SpaceBoy who was creating an online plunge game at some point in the past.

This poll is pretty stupid considering that The Way isn't even an MMORPG yet. But yes, The Way MMORPG would be beyond excellent. Having a lifetime of fame and riches would be a puddle of crap in comparison.

Well, an online Plunging system would be great. But The Way seems to be far too complex and specific of a story for it to be made into a game where hundreds of people can play it. Unless you're talking a completely open ended experiance, and not with set, linear quests. That would take time, effort, and a lot of skill to make.

Unless you do a crap job, of course.

Of course. But in the end, aren't we talking about a very complex system that has mnay variables? I'm sure it took Lun a very long time to script, and this in RM2K, a very basic system. I don't think it would be very rushed in something else, if you know what I mean. But I could be wrong.

yah it would be open ended experience with a little background story and non-linear gameplay. Plunge would be good and with much work it's not impossible to make one! we have already made very complex mmorpgs and plunge would be possibly made..
Also, places found in the way may also exist in the mmorpg, and also dream estrana, hooooooohhh, and phantom slasher can be a boss monster, oooohhh...

Well it isn't too difficult to have a random terrain/city generator in a real programming language. So making new land appear out of The Mists would be a snap. Also, the plunge is actually a fairly easy system to program, especially when Lun gave us the charts he used to determine damage and stuff in the WGB. It'd be kick ass if you had your own Phantom Slasher -esque world though, that you could personalize, provided you could control the spirits of the sword. There are so many possibilities.

Sounds okay, but Rhue was the sweetest rpg character i've seen in a lifetime.
You're talking about like, star wars galaxies, where you name yourself, and you're just some random character, not to mention you have like a 5% chance of being a jedi.

I for one like to be the random guy who has no relation to the hero. It can be more fun to see how Bob the Carpenter whose village gets eaten while he was out, quests, then how the epic angst filled emo hero does.

Unless we can find a very good development team to make the game, with guidance from Lun... let us never talk about this again.

I think it would be cool if you had an open style game, very non-linear. a 3D one would be cool, and it would be somewhat easier than you'd expect. (I said somewhat easier, not easy)
You'd need a lot of very good modelers though, but before you bash me off for even suggesting the idea, try looking at engines such as Ogre3D, and Irrlicht.
