Why is it that Alan is (as far as I know) the only character in the way with many names, others simply say I am:
Bob of Marna
Gaius of Xor
Rhue of Landorin
etcetera etcetera.
Alan says: I am Alanthreonus Phillipe Straphachar.
Notice that he doesn't say his stretch, most other wanderers do. I just find that a little, perculiar.

That theory is quite possible, but I beliebe that Alan is simply highly doped up on some strong drug, whihc causes him to babble mindlessly.
In fact, the name he says is simply jibberish. His real name is Frederick.
