Scatha is a dragon from silmarillion.

Now why would Lun name our pink-armoured heroine after a slithering wyrm?

It might have been a coincidence. It might be because Scatha means enemy.

Scatha can also mean 'Spacecraft Charging At High Altitudes'. Pretty deep huh?

She isn't an enemy though is she? She's a victim. It's probably just because it sounds like a distorted version of Chasta. Which I'm guessing is a reference to Chastity seeing as her mother got so mad at her 'relations' with that guy.

Thats what I always assumed. Unless Lun actually took the time to find a name that not only had a relevent meaning but could be scrambled into different name with another relevent meaning.

Well the reference to a wyrm would account for Scatha's slithering speech.

Conclusion: Lun is a genius. Close topic.

Wow, how did we miss this one:
scathe - To harm or injure, especially by fire.

Its probably why the dragon was named it too.
