What would happen if you...

Postby The Fly » Tue Sep 21, 2004 10:01 am

i was wondering what happens if you do something. oh that makes sense. *slaps self* i mean, what happens when you make a certain choice on the way. For example, when Kloe come to you, did any one choose both in bed? if so what happens? i don't want to have to redo the entire game just for thjat. so could some one tell me? i just want to know really...and some other choices, like not battling Strata at the end. did any one run?

most likely the last episodes will have major forks in them, multiple endings based on the relations with each character.

If you choose that both Rhue and Kloe sleep in the same bed, first Sorya catches them both sleeping togeather in the morning and as I remember teases Rhue about it...

Much later on just before Rhue has the confrontational plunge with Slade, when Rhue, Cetsa, Kloe and Dirk was setting up camp for the night Kloe gets all smug and boosts to Cetsa that she'd already slept with Rhue... Much to Rhue's embarrasement (as he couldn't really deny it) and my amusement

It could be very easy to let multiple endings ruin a game. For example, if who Serena is is determined by what you do, it destroys much of the game's mysterious atmosphere. (After all, if any of the girls could be her, then you're not going to have any profound revelations, in light of which all the previous confusions about her identity suddenly make sense.)

Some variation in the ending is fine, but when you have a mystery this convoluted, I don't think it pays to try to create multiple solutions to it. (I've played games like that, and the endings were always collosal let-downs.) You, of necessity, lose all sense of inevitability--that is, the state in which, having once seen the rationale at the end, you realize that things had to be that way all along.

I agree with DSOK. The game wouldn't be as fun if there were multiple endings. Multiple endings works great for some games (Fallout 1 + 2, etc), but for other games, it doesn't work out at all. (Deus Ex 2, anyone?)

For The Way, it would be best if there was just one ending. The game is centred on the storyline, so for the sake of not destroying it, they should have one ending.

do we have any proof that Serena exists?

Teppic do we have any proof that the universe was created besides us thinking?

Absolutely not. However, I am inclined to believe that at least one of Rhue's auras remembers something about some girl. Serena, per se probably does not exist.

I think that the color of Serena's hair option back in Episode 2 may have different endings depending on which one.

Also, the relationship points labeled Rhue in the walkthrough may be actually points for Serena...that kinda thing...

I hope that makes one person more confused....not...

Well, I think the eventual multiple endings will change only the future of the plot, not the past.

The things you say when talking to Lexus in one scene can determine how much each girl is like Serena, that might have something to do with it. I think this is getting a bit off topic...

That would really be the only effective manner of doing it, yes.
