You can't beat him. The best you can do is last 6 rounds or more rounds against him. If you don't last 6 rounds the crowd will boo you and people will think you're wimpy, but that's about all so far.

But you can own him at the end of the game and get the Backlash Blade Art.

You cannot win against Strata at the beginning of Episode 5... It's sorta part of the plot.
Hehehehee

Hold in your anger and desire to rip his head off and eat it with a plastic fork, at the end you'll get to unload on him. First hit I did 42 damage, and that bish died of a level 4 injury. There's nothing more satisfying...

in the end I actually liked him more than Rhue, however...

Well, I was hoping something would happen to cause him to turn over a new leaf, but unless something life changing happens, it's unrealistic. It'd be interesting to use him in the party.

Well, considering how good he is, he wouldn't really fit in with the episode 5 crew, but it wouldn't suprise me if you can use him in episode 6 or later.

Yeah, if Gaius truly is hiding a greater power, Strata would fit right in with Gaius and Traziun. Though at the moment, we can't tell Strata's reaction to his ass kicking, as he just slouched there with a bewildered look on his face.

I think Strata is pretty strong... but I don't think he's hiding much... he's seems too arrogant to be hiding something...

On the topic, I believe that the ending Strata is weaker then the beginning Strata. In the end, Strata says that he will go all out yet this time you can beat him. The starting Strata takes you out easily, and the omly reason you can beat this Strata is because he is in serious pain because of Trazuin, so the full power "Playing" is incredably Strong, yet the the full out injured Strata is much weaker.

Like I said before... At the beginning it's part of the plot that you lose... Plus Strata was just running from Lyrra for hours before that, so he's probably exausted. And Rhue's probably stronger after doing all that he did in between the two battles.
Or...

Or Lun just wanted to make this Strata possible. Its sorta like when you face the last boss of a game before the end, and he has 9999 of every stat and completly defeats you, then, when you face him at the end, his stats are lowered so that he's actually possible.
And technically, Strata is the last boss of Ep5.

Yes, Lun made Strata weaker. But he definitely lowered the damage theshold too much, since almost everyone can beat him with a 4-step injury in 1 pass the second time.

in the end Strata has a higher plunge stat.
I think he was doing his best.
