In Need of Help in the Forest in Episode two

I've approached many save points, but I get to a certain point where I can't go anywhere. I'm able to see the broken bridge, but not on the right level/platform to get to it. Is there anything I could be totally messing up, or a link to a guide somewhere?
Any help is appreciated.

You can jump across the gap after going up one level.

You only need to go to the first level. Are you saying that you can't reach the first level for some reason?
