Carl Jung is a douche.

I don't want to name names, (cough) that arogant jackass who totaly misinterpreted my beautiful creation (cough) but I feel I need to set some things straight.

Jesus, this hurts me to even have to reply to such an obviously idiotic reply, and it goes against my gut. Usually to acknowledge ignorance is to encourage it, but I'm left with no choice but to confront someone with such an obvious and ridiculous misinterpretation, before they get other a row of morons lining up behind them.

While I am well versed in "Star Wars" and "Lain" I have yet to see anything anywhere that can adequately convince me that Jung was anything other than a delusional douche. Perhaps the time he spent under the tutelage of Eugene Bleuler made him a little bit wrong in the head. Jung is perhaps the west's most embarassing collection of foolish, speculatory, non-empirical, and down right ludicrous notions of phsycological, and philisophical thought.

So why don't we start with the tenant that the majority of Jungians seem to hold most dear: The collective unconscious. It has no media that can transmit or interpret it, it's just there. Like a big magic ghost floating around, "WHOO WHOO WHOO I'M THE COLLECTIVE UNCONSCIOUS! I WILL LET INFANT CHILDREN THE WORLD OVER COMPREHEND THE GREATEST MYSTERIES OF EXISTENCE!"

Alright alirght, I get it how you and many other nitwits could mistake the "Phantom Slasher" for "The Shadow" and certain other characters for certain archetypes, Lyra sure does seem a hell of a lot like an anima, and traziun makes a fine "Old Man." If we wanna make Rhue a hermie we can throw all sorts of animuses in there too, but would anybody with half a brain really wanna do that?

And while you talk a good game about transparent allegories I find that if a work of art is impossible to comprehend their is no reason to create it at all. It's not like your frickin' magic collective unconscious is gonna fly right up to some nimrods ear and say:

"WOOO WOOO WOOO I'M THE COLLECTIVE UNCONSCIOUS! BECAUSE YOU ARE STUPID AND CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE PLAYING I WILL LET YOU IN ON A LITTLE SECRET."

The Jung ass-licking moron who incited me to this is prime proof that we live in a world of morons, and thus we must be ever more vigorous in adhearing only to what we can observe and repeat, not dumb garbage that comes to us from nowhere.

If we start believing every retarded notion that comes into our head believing it to be a whisper from the voice of God we are surely going to embarass ourselves.

For all the talk of ur-plays and archetypes I think it is good to remember that Jung "rejoined the collective unconscious" long ago, way before people realized that meta-physics is garbage.

I didn't understand a word of what you said, but I still got excited in the pants, if you know what I mean.

So, Freud can spend his whole career spouting unscientific and outright ridiculous interpretations of the human condition and gain your praise, while his equally bizarre contemporary gains your derision by merely throwing some mythology into the mix?

Well, judging by the Freudian terms used by Cocoa to describe the plot, and his anti-Jungianism (I said it, so it's a word, dammit) . . . ahem . . . I think we can deduce that

1) Traziun killed his OWN mother because he couldn't restrain his desire to sleep with her.

2) He REPRESSED the memory of that and then . . .

3) Killed his father in the classic Oedipus scenario

There you go. I just solved the whole plot. If I'm wrong, they obviously changed it after reading this because I gave it all away.

You're just mad because Cocoa's theories are the only ones you can't refute because they're obviously right.

Freud was a genius. He was the first one to realize the sexiness of a milf. And Oedipus smells like cheese.

Woah, sorry Cocoa, I only just found this after replaying the Way again and having a lurk relapse. Do you still come here? Do you want me to reply? Nice wikipedia article btw, if it was you. It has a correction of your above rant: Serena is obviously Rhue's anima, not Lyrra. If it is in fact Lun who wrote the article, it reinforces my interpretation (come to think of it, it reinforces it even more if you wrote it). Nevertheless, post-ep6, there have been a lot of developments. The rather depressing conclusion might imply an abandonment of the obviously Jungian sub-structure, but to acknoledge that you would have to concede its reality in the first place, hmm?
